There's only one game on the lips of gamers this weekend, and it's Monster Hunter Wilds. Bizarrely, though, not everyone on our team is playing Capcom's latest. What's wrong with 'em?

On top of trudging along with Dark Souls 3, I'll likely sink a bit of time into the Splitgate 2 alpha.

49 years ago, way back in February 1976, the Guardians of the Galaxy starred in their first comic series in issue three of Marvel Presents. Anyway, it's the 1st March now, so this anniversary was a convoluted reason for me to restart Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy again last month.
Robert Ramsey
Just like millions of other people, I'll be playing Monster Hunter Wilds this weekend. I already beat the game for review, but the grind remains enticing thanks to Capcom's typically stellar combat. I'm looking forward to seeing lobbies that are actually populated by players!
Sammy Barker
I think I'm mainly going to be on the gacha grind this weekend as I have a bunch of events to clear. But I did just grab RoboCop: Rogue City discounted, so maybe I'll give that a spin.
Are you playing Monster Hunter Wilds this weekend, or something else entirely? You know the drill: let us know in the comments section below.

Finally, I will play Graveyard Keeper! I have been waiting for so long for a physical edition of this game!
In the meantime, I am starting Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, and I am so happy that there is no time limit tied to the good ending with Cornell!
And on the side some Silent Hill 2
Also finished the design on the Lore, Bestiary and Magic menus in Castletoria!!!

Happy gaming everyone!!!
Playing Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii loving it looking to get the plat this weekend. Majima is my fave character I'm even wearing majima socks while playing 😂
Finally getting around to starting the Darksiders series today! I’ve had them in my backlog for bloody years and have always quite fancied them (particularly 2) but have always ended up shifting them back in the schedule for whatever nebulous reason that cropped up at the time.
Well that changes today, starting with Darksiders: Warmastered Edition I’m gonna check out this series full of heavy inspiration from other games that I love. I’ve heard this first one plays like a fusion of N64-era Zelda and old-school God of War. Sounds pretty cool.
Finished Trails in the Sky first chapter this last week. Some random thoughts on it for those who might be interested: -
For those who have been wondering about starting the Trails games, my advice is... give it a go! Since finishing First Chapter, I am itching to start the next game, but I'm making myself take a break so I don't burn out (and to give me a chance to absorb the story of the first game).
So this weekend, I've gone for some gaming contrast with Deus Ex Human Revolution. I played and loved the iconic original years ago and so far I'm loving this prequel. Also decided to give my PSP some more love this year and currently playing Mercury Meltdown on it. Which is pretty darned addictive.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone, whatever you're up to.
Trying playing 3D heavy games on my portal, elden ring and high on life (got it from psplus). This ps portal thing is amazing, just for fun I tried playing elden ring while my ps5 is downloading a couple games, the result? I can't find the difference between playing natively on ps5 or streaming on ps portal, it's even better than playing 2D games, it's kind of crazy. I still prefer playing 3D games on tv though, with big tv and 5.1 surround sound, but it's so nice playing 3D games at 1080p & 60 fps while I'm on my bed before sleep. My ps5 has become my wii u 😃
Also just bought dualsense 30th anniversary edition, it's so good 😁
Trying to finish the excellent Cult of the Lamb now my month of PS Plus runs out. Was hoping to score a platinum trophy, but beating all bosses without getting hit seems a bit too much 😬
Yakuza Hawaii - ship and crew all decked out and plundering everything 😆
Aqua Moto Racing Utopia - a cheap wave race type game i picked up for 99p in the sale and is surprisingly good 👍
Just acquired the midnight black PS Portal and honestly, it's great. Can now play games with my son in hospital. So we are completing Astro Bot CTR and Knack 2. Whilst I also continue my platinum hunting to get my 75th platinum with Uncharted 4. Happy Gaming All.
MLB 24 The Show and very slooooowly finishing Uncharted 2 (maybe)
On Pro I'm playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The map just got bigger! Monster Hunter Wilds received yesterday and Warhammer Space Marine 2. Game Pass Avowed
I'm taking my time with Sniper Elite Resistance mixed with some PoE2 Early Access and some daily racing in GT7 😎
Rare weekend off for me, so I'm hopefully going to do a lot of gaming. I should have Trails through Daybreak II finished either today or tomorrow, then I'll be moving onto Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
I'm also starting a Claire play through on Resident Evil 2. My PS one doesn't get used as much as it should.
Saturday also means that it's co-op day, so we shall be carrying on with Minecraft.
Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire, it is buggy on a modern system today but I'm gonna try and get through it 🙃
I’ve made it to the point of no return in kingdom come deliverance 1, so that will be my weekend. I will be playing a few short games once kcd is all done me thinks.
Arma Reforger.
Gave up on boosting Frey's powers in Forspoken so no plat. Ill have a look on plus what to play next. Probably Jedi:Survivor or High on Life.
Have a good weekend.
Still Forspoken. The more I play, the more appreciate it and feel bad that it failed so bad. It deserved so much better.
Tales of Arise: I'm really enjoying the comic book panel style skits, pastel like art design, and dynamic twist on the typical JRPG battle style. Shionne is a standout, prickly but for a reason (even if you don't know completely why) but the whole core crew are interesting and well done. Definitely want to play another Tales entry after this.
Playing some Onimusha ^__^
@naruball it really was victim of bandwagon jumping.
Way better than people assume its like
Will be playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for the next few weeks. I'm onto the last quest in the blacksmith questline. Before I do that I'll brew some potions and maybe do another side quest.
Space Marine 2...finished the excellent campaign and now onto the co op online operations mode and multiplayer. A great game
More of the superb Avowed on XBX a typically great Obsidian RPG - it's literally The Outer Worlds in a fantasy setting
Have a great weekend guys and gals
Finished Lost records part 1 midweek. Really enjoyed it.
Moved on to Life is strange double exposure but not grabbed me fully yet.
Also got Boti: Byteland overclocked. Only just played the first bit but it plays n looks decent
@naruball
Enjoyed it but the story was pretty short imo. Frey has some cool superpowers.
Same as last week 🙂
Warhammer 40k - Space Marines 2 - I'm still having so much fun with this game. Wish there was more of everything with this game 🙂
Avowed - The game has grown on me. The solution to enjoying it more for me was that I stopped treating it as an AAA rpg (its to shallow and lacks that immersion and interactivity for that imo) and instead I’m playing it as an AA adventure game with fun exploration in a beautiful world and that works good. Mainly just doing the main quests with a bit of extra running around. Also lowered difficulty, dont want to have to grind for levels. So yeah, not a perfect game at all but enjoyable 🙂
I got the Dragon Age Veilguard Platinum last night after an epic replay of the whole franchise. I loved it without reservation and I am so incredibly mad at the way the internet has treated it.
I am about to boot up Monster Hunter Wilds and see how the release version runs on my PC, so fingers crossed!
Like Aaron I am trudging along in DS3 which is the best way to describe playing Ringed City. Proud of myself for getting this far but man this dlc just isn’t much fun to me.
Will try to jump back into RDR2 as well.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
I really should get back to KCD2 and start Lost Records, but who knows? That’s my backlog. Only gaming I did the past week was the new Astro Bot level. I’m going to be relatively busy this weekend though, but I’d like to play something. It’s just sort of been a particularly high stress time, so I think my body needs more rest than games, but, man, I’m getting to that point where I miss games, you know? It feels like Split Fiction or AC Shadows will end up being the comfort food I could use.
I’m mostly recovered from my cold, so I’ll be diving into Pirate Yakuza for the next several hours.
Continuing Black Myth Wukong, chapter 4 now, chapter 3 was brilliant and much bigger than the previous ones. Just as you start to feel a bit powerful the enemies get that bit tougher, hate the flying ones - pain in the a**.
Awesome game though!
Happy Gaming folks
I'll be starting Monster Hunter in the next hour or so after a few runs in Helldivers.
I'm only playing SF 6. My MR got fall down to 1450 and i want it at 1550 at the end of this week.
Outside game, i will watch Reacher season 3 and Samurai Jack season 1.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
Yet more of my addiction to AoE4 on Series X.
Jedi Survivor and maybe some God of War on Pro.
Have a good one all.
Between work, a friends birthday, and upcoming exams, I’ll only have time to do my daily quests on The First Descendant so not much gaming for me this weekend unfortunately.

Playing Age of Mythology Retold and Monster Hunter Wilds… gonna be a busy weekend everyone, enjoy!
It's a weekend of just Monster Hunter Wilds and Trails Through Daybreak 2 for me, thoroughly enjoying both games.
I'm strangely captivated by Citizen Sleeper so may have to put another hour or two into that. It'snot like any game I've ever played, more like a choose your own adventure book, table top RPG and cyberpunk visual novel fusion.
Also making a start on Uncharted Lost Legacy as it's the only one of the franchise I never played.
Have a good weekend and successful gaming endeavours people.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. Incredible game.
Few trophies to hunt on the first Uncharted before jumping over to the second game. The killing 75 people before dying one is really irritating me, mainly because I always die at some random platforming jump 😄. Really enjoyed the game though.
Also jumped back into Elden Ring, with Freedom Wars and yet another playthrough of NieR: Automata on the side (it was its birthday! That’s the excuse!)
Have fun everyone!
Still playing through GOW Ragnarok which feels absolutely massive now (although I did have a bug with a cage not raising because I was in performance mode which is pretty unforgivable a year later).
Also getting some more System Shock remake in, which is a lot tougher than I remember!
Have a great weekend Folks!
@naruball ...totally agree. Character started off annoying but she grew on me. A great game
My left ear is completely blocked and has put dampener on my gaming enjoyment this week, but i would like to push on with God of War Ragnarok which has been incredible thus far.
Happy gaming everyone 👍
So few mentions of wilds. Interesting. About 50h into KCD2, feel i have a good handle on the various systems, so the gameplay feels more ‘natural’ than at the start
Getting s*** done in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II 💩
Still playing Avowed close to 40 hours in and I'm just finishing up the 3rd areas side quests and bounties honestly don't want it to end the world is just fun to explore and it's packed with things to find.
My new midnight black dual sense pad arrived after my mishap with my og pad so I'm rocking PoE2 mostly because the latest updates fixed what was driving me nuts about it for the past month or so. I'm also having a dirt 2.0 evening with my mate because we've decided that it's time we got down to the daddy of all rally sims and torture ourselves. Have a great weekend folks 👍
Still enjoying my time in Avowed on series X, it has it's issues but it's a really good game. I still have the last two levels of Indiana Jones to finish too, I have to do smaller sessions on that or I get a bit motion sick!
On PS5 I'm playing Fabledom, a fantasy city builder thats been in my wishlist since release and is finally on sale at £11.99! It may be a little 'cutesy' for some, but I love it 😁
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
Finished DQIII - what a ton of fun it was!! Am very much looking forward to the release of the I & II combo pack now (is it out yet?!)! Nothing out this second that's on sale or caught my attention at full price. I am curious about Centum - looks interesting; will check out the reviews (it releases Mar. 11). Wishing everyone a super weekend!! 😸
Having a lovely time with Jedi Survivor.
Otherwise spending a lot of time on Marvel Snap again - CL9000 now!
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
I have racked up 200 hours in this game - an amount of time I’ve never spent on a single game in a continual manner without getting burned out. In terms of story, I’m roughly fifty percent through the main campaign. My goal is to have every side quest and trophy mopped up that doesn’t relate to main missions before I push onward to the end of the game.
In the last ten hours, my Henry has crawled in manure to search for a man, has built pyramids out of human remains, been so drunk that someone stole his shoes in the middle of the town square, helped a young man from being bullied by villagers, and went down to the depths of hell (almost literally) to stop demons from coming out of the pitts and killing livestock. It resulted in me in losing my entire clothing and weapons, and killing a man who lost his mind to darkness and his mission.
If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, just know that I’m considered to be the Dark Lord who has the nickname Sourdough. I’m quite literally the epitome of a Jack of all Trades. I’m not to be trifled with.
This week I finished and platinumed Rogue Flight, and excellent Starfox anime style game. I’m wrapping up Iron Meat as well. I also wrapped up Mafia.
So now I’ve moved on to starting the first Kingdom Come to see if I’ll want to indulge in the second.
I also for some reason thought I would check out No Man’s Sky after disliking it years ago. I am hooked. Building a base, traveling to planets and stations, and the general relaxing vibe has me so engrossed that I feel like I finally get it.
Beyond that, I may start Prince of Persia or get Ender Magnolia
I'm playing Morrowind (2002) in VR with the Total Overhaul modlist (around 500 mods) and having a grand old time:
With my bedroom completely back together, I now have time to.... catch up on outside work. I'll keep it light this week and just trim the Crape Myrtles.
The upside is that my PS5 is hooked up again. I'll be continuing on to the late game of Fantasian and wrapping some quests there. Finally diving into Fobia: St Dinfna Hotel and having a blast too.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
Henry and The Envoy.
I'm playing the brilliant KCD2 and the rather decent Avowed.
Of course, MH Wilds for the YEAR 😂i spend almost 1200 hours on MH world/Iceborne and around 900 hours on Rise/sunbreak.
Baldur's Gate 3
Approaching 40 hours in and still loving it. I'm still working my way through the Underdark towards Moonrise Towers, which is naturally taking a while.
Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Hoping to have time to finally finish the wonderful Indiana Jones. Also hoping to try Monster Hunter Wilds with a friend who generously gifted me the game. If there is still time thereafter, I'll dive back into the first Kingdom Come Deliverance which I started last weekend in an effort to gain the maximum backstory for the sequel.
Finally got my Banishers ghosts of new Eden Platinum last weekend but it has completely burnt me out of playing narrative games. I’ve been dipping my feet back into Destiny 2 trials and competitive playlists and really enjoying just some pvp fun
Monster Hunter Wilds for me this weekend... and I guess for the upcoming weeks/months!
Bonking on the heads of monster while playing sweet melodies for my teammates with the hunting horn.
Have a good weekend!
Still going through some of the never ending backlog. Currently on Dondoko Island mostly this weekend😆
I’ve got my Lego Brickheadz set I started in the week to finish, hoping to get a bit of reorganising and tidying done.
For gaming wise though I’ll be carrying on with Silent Hill 2 Remake, Black Myth Wukong and Fantastic, get a bit of levelling done on SMTV: Vengeance, start MH Wilds and install DD2 ready to start either next week or in a few weeks time after finishing a few other games
@KilloWertz
I still have yet to get BG3 hoping to get it in a few months time though
@Mostik I’m just a bit into chapter 5, and this game just continues to blow my mind. Enjoy!
Gotta keep truckin in Wukong. Hoping to finish by my spring break (teacher) so I can finally start Alan Wake 2. Or maybe I buy Wilds…
I've found myself gravitated to Like A Dragon - which is my first time really digging into this series. The game's so wild, it fits my sense of humor; and Ichiban is an absolutely fantastic protagonist. It's at the point where I'm kinda looking forward to Infinite Wealth (after YouTubing Kiryu's story for now)
Also - even when I'm taking on a meaty RPG - I'm side-eying Monster Hunter Wilds. Could never get into the series due to lack of really trying, but Wilds looks really good and very accessible to a newbie like me. So, I guess we'll see!
Plan on continuing Monster Hunter Wilds, I'm having a lot of fun with the game
@ear_wig Nice one buddy, it is excellent, proper punch the air moments when beating certain bosses!
I can recommend Alan Wake 2 absolutely loved it, Saga is a great character but I'll be honest the sections as Alan weren't as good IMO.
Have a good one 👍
I'm journeying through the Forbidden Lands in MH Wilds and loving it. It's alot of fun. A tad on the easy side so far but I'm still in Chapter 1.
Happy Hunting PushSquare faithful!
Gt7,rdr2 and taking my time with sniper elite resistance ,its a very enjoyable game although I really like all the sniper series ,it hasn't reviewed well overall but goes to show as long as you are enjoying whatever yr playing then that's all that matters,my gaming this weekend will all be done after dark as the weather is beautiful,so out and about enjoying the sun before hand:)
@graymamba Ah, you’re in for real treat as far I’m concerned. Hope it goes well for you!
@naruball Despite how harsh the critics were, the game looked fun. If I see it for cheap someday I definitely might give it a go
@Jimmer-jammer I got a coupe of hours in this morning and am enjoying what I’ve played so far tbh
I am playing Kingdom Come Deliverance.
I am still on the first map wrapping up quests I'd like to finish before I advance the story even further.
I have naturally come across cute little things like a merchant that complains about a cabbage thief. Before that I ran across a little trail of cabbages, but my detective skills were not up to snuff and instead I am trying to animate a golem. So, yeah, fun things are happening and I might actually sub for PS Plus to give Dragon Age a go. How bad could they have fudged it up!?
Nothing really. I really want to play MonHun but yesterday was a bisy day and I only managed to reach a second camp, and this weekend I'm going ice skating for the last time until next season so yeah.
Wanted to share my thoughts on GoW Ragnarok which I played this week on plus, but that will ruffle some feathers so I'll restrain myself. I just want to say that I don't agree that scores below 7 should be restricted to broken unfinished games. Thay should be given to boring games despite all the polish and production value. Boring entertainment is oxymoron and shouldn't exist.
@GoatFace04 it's £8 in cex and on playstation plus extra
Mostly Monster Hunter Wilds with some Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black mixed in (all on PS5).
Elder Scrolls Online and Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown. Really great game! Massively overlooked!
Pirate yakuzaa all the way, and infinity nikki ofc
Ripping out the old fireplace ready for a plastering job. The only tools I’ll need today are a jimmy bar and beer.. have fun.. I will 😁
@Dragoon1994 Prepare to not play anything else for months.
I can't stop playing Avowed. I'm loving it. The wife will demand some Tetris Effect or DK Country Returns HD at some point
@PeaceSalad youve got my sympathies buddy, i had an ear infection over christmas and it took a month to clear up Otex drops are good (dont get them mixed up with eye drops though😂). Also, dont be tempted to shove anything up there, mine ended up bleeding which wasnt fun!
@Dalamar i was really salty on it until about chapter 6. Ive been more into it since then, but i also turned the difficult right down because i didnt get on with combat (really short combat range and enemies flitting around like theyre on speed). The fire hose of systems introduced at the start didnt help either, im only just starting to feel likei understand them 50 hours in!)
On the finale chapter of Pirate Yakuza so I’m going to do some ship battles before starting the last chapter. But damn, I have had an absolute blast with it. RGG had something here they could work into a stable side franchise like Judgment if they desired to. Majima always delivers. Always.
@rusty82 Cool beans
This weekend? You mean, during the next 3 months? Monster Hunter Wilds of course.
@DrVenture69 I had the opposite problem. I had to bump the difficulty way up just to feel I'm playing an action game, not wood chopping simulator.
I've been hoarding 11 PS Store sales games on my PS4 and PS5 during February, so I'm all set for my What Are You Playing This Weekend? gaming picks throughout the first part of 2025.
I've also bought my cousin's Windows 11 laptop, and I was chuffed to discover that it can run modern games. Therefore, I've doubled-up on PlayStation and Windows PC games, by buying both Balan Wonderworld (PS4, PS5 and Windows PC), and Gotham Knights (PS5 and Windows PC) for especially cheap on the different systems.
Like I mention above, I'm currently playing Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy on both my PS4 and my Windows 11 laptop — admittedly it chugs a little bit on my laptop — because I've already beat Eidos Montreal's comic book game on my PS5.
All of the prices below are the bargain prices that I spent on each game in February 2025 in the three sales, with my 11 PS4 and PS5 February 2025 bargains listed below, too.
I've got my eye on the latest PS Store sale next, which is called Dealmania, but I'm going to rest my wallet for a bit, because Dealmania is a PS Store sale that lasts until Wednesday 12th March.
Have a great weekend, everyone. Roll on WAYP 2025!
I went old school and played NFL 2K5, which remains better than Madden even after over 20 years, along with some classic Mortal Kombat. I haven't played any recent games, though.
Still on Dark Souls 3...main game finished. Ashes of Ariandel DLC done - shorter DLC but Sister Friede boss fight was absolutely fantastic! Now I´m on Ringed City DLC and oh boy, still lot to do here. Already in the city area after cool fight with Demon Prince, so the hardest bosses still ahead
Hopefully will be able to finish this DLC and if I do, will definitely play some platformer for a change
Have a nice weekend and enjoy your gaming, everyone!
I got 2013's Tomb Raider for my birthday, so I'm giving it a whirl. It is the second Tomb Raider game I've ever owned, and the first I will have played.
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode still.
Halo: Spartan Assault (Windows Phone) - Took some time off last week, back to the grind!
Microsoft Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - Also need to get back into this as well.
I’ve been loving Turbo Overkill on Steam Deck. Colin was talking about it on Sacred Symbols and I thought it sounded great. I managed to get it for under $4 on CD Keys. I might also play some Avowed if I get a chance after the kids go to bed.
LaD Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii... Getting towards the end of chapter 2 and absolutely loving it.
@DrVenture69 Thanks, friend appreciate it. I should have attacked the situation a long while ago. I have an appointment to have it cleared on Wednesday. Keeping up with the drops until then. Your situation seems a good level above mine, myst have been awful and over xmas to boot.
@GoatFace04 the gameplay really doesn't disappoint. Especially after you unlock certain powers. It plays very differently
Bought Robocop Rogue city on sale. Pretty fun game. Ang great sale price.
I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds. It's a lot of fun!
@PeaceSalad does make you appreciate it when it comes back 😄
An update... I'm 6hrs in to MH Wilds and I think I'm going to shelve it for now, the performance on PC is getting wonkier the further I go.
Looks like it'll be PC upgrading time after all!
Still making my way through TLoU Pt 2, done Abby seattle and am now playing wiith the Rattlers. It crazy how big it is for a single player story game.
Finally got around to starting Nioh. Always wanted to get into these games and it’s got me hooked. Team ninja just knows combat. It’s so fun and addictive. The level design isn’t my favorite. But I’m loving just about every other aspect of the game. Except the water level with all the spots to fall in. Ooof… rage. Almost threw my ps portal across the room when I lost all my amrita by drowning. Great stuff though!
