I’m surprised we haven’t got one yet (or maybe I didn’t look hard enough), so I made one.
Not every query needs a thread, so feel free to post in here.
If it’s regarding a specific game the OT might be better if there is one, but please be mindful of potential spoilers & use spoiler tags.

So I just jumped on the PS App & within 20 seconds or so I signed up to PlayStation Stars. Surprisingly straight forward.
Whilst I’m not actively trying to get to the highest tiers it can’t hurt to start accumulating points as some of the rewards are interesting.
Has anyone found an effective way to start grinding points?

@Fight_Teza_Fight Oh wow, I just tagged you on a chit-chat rumination that may have fit here. Ah well. 😅
But yes, the PS Stars is a pretty simple thing to join in, but a little more complex to fully understand. The different types of virtual currency and ways to progress isn’t exactly self-evident. Overall I think the program is very ‘meh’ and not nearly as enticing as what I hear about Xbox’s reward structure, but the message is “hey, it’s free to join and completely voluntary so don’t whine about it”, so I won’t. 😄

@Th3solution So I logged on a little while ago & got 2 digital tokens. I was a bit curious by the ‘rewards’ section. For ex. £20 PSN can be redeemed with 5000 points, but you only get 10 points/£1 spent on the store.
Unless you’re doing the campaigns this will be a slow background thing for me.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Yes, that was part of my issue with it, if you do the math then it’s a pretty paltry reward, no matter if it’s free or not. I think a lot of us were under the impression that we were getting something cool like store credit for getting gold or platinum trophies, or getting substantial cashback or perks, but it’s not quite what my mind had imagined. Also, it’s clearly motivated to push people toward digital purchases on PSN. And that’s fine, Sony has the right to do that, but I do quite a bit of my game purchasing physical still.
Nevertheless, I’m at level 2 with 844 points and about 8-10 of their little virtual trinket rewards so far with putting no effort into it. If you go through the hassle of doing the ‘campaigns’ then you’ll earn points much quicker. Some of the campaigns they’ve had I could have completed by playing the required games on the list, but I couldn’t be fussed to spend my time downloading a random game I have no interest in playing at the moment just so I could open said game to get that checked off.
