Hi Everyone.
I know PS+ sharing questions have been done to death. I really need a steer on this please.
I bought my 14yr old son a PS5 at Christmas and ahead of the big day I signed up for PS+ Premium using my own email address with a view to sharing the benefits with him using his own PS account. Turns out I should have done some more research. If I log in to the PS I can see all the premium games available to play or try (largely the pitiful stuff you see languishing on the shelves forever unfortunately) and when I log in as my son, I can't see all that. What he gets to see is any game I installed. He can't install his own. If he goes to the PS+ Premium area and wants a game, he gets prompted to subscribe himself. I guess all of the above is my fault, without adequate research. My bad. I don't play games. I don't use the PS at all. I went with parent / child theory of setup - but it's frustrating at best. Wondering what are best steps to get him to be able to play and install games / chat with his friends etc., without me having to pay another £100... He doesn't want to play online as me. Can I transfer my PS+ Premium to him? Any other ideas about how to unpick this? Thanks very much.
@ajcbump We had a similar discussion over on the PS5 OT thread and I think the conclusion was that if you have the right settings enabled, then you can share the downloaded games and the ability to play online with other accounts on the same console but they can’t access the PS Plus online library themselves or the cloud saving feature.
There is no way to transfer a subscription so the best solution would be for your son to use your account to download games and then login to his account to play them.
Before allowing that I'd remove you card details from your account (if saved) and set purchases to always require a password.
If you don't like it, don't play it, and shut yo damn mouth
