Well this should come as no surprise given the events of the past few days but how bout where we (the users) can block posts or what not from another user? I know that the best advice is just to ignore the user in general but sometimes it can be hard to especially if they are goading you. I know some sites do have that where users can block other users if they choose to. Any thought on this for Pushsquare? Is it a plausible idea?

Sorry, saw it! Somebody has some pretty long toes to step on.

It's actually not a terrible idea and that this website still hasn't blown up like NLife, I'd like to think it's possible PushSquare could make this happen. I don't think I'd put anybody on the ignore list but there are two particular people who can't seem to handle an opinion if it isn't 100% pro-Sony or in agreement with their own statements. I appreciate somebody who's a fan of a brand but there's a difference between a fan and a corporate slave. Some people here are starting to get like 95% of the NLife community... that's not a compliment.
It would be pretty worthless to spend all the day recoding the whole site for support this feature when the community is this small. For now we will be fine with just one mod roaming around from time to time.

Yeah, I think this would be a nice feature to have before this place gets as big as NL. But if it is alot of work I can see how they dont want to implement it now. My biggest reason for wanting to block users is I will admit I have a short fuse and at times its hard to watch it especially when a person goads you but. Having a user blocker would be much easier but if not well I guess this is just a test of my patients.

It's not really worth it to get too worked up about. I'm glad there was a collaboration with NLife that allowed me to discover this place and I plan on continuing to enjoy it while the fun lasts, just like I did NLife, and then once the fanboys have finally driven off the few remaining good members, that's when I'll move on. The positive is that as long as Sammy is in charge, the reviews and news and features should all be good and devoid of the slandering and other nonsense. I won't completely give up on PushSquare unless he were to get a job at Sony or somewhere else and decides to leave PushSquare behind. NLife, despite having a fanboy riddled community, was still pretty good when James Newton was in charge. Than he left and you have what you have now. People writing articles how GTA V sucks and suggesting people who like it should be ashamed. Articles how PS4 and X1 suck and Wii U is the way to go. I get it, it's a Nintendo-dedicated site but that kind of writing just isn't needed.
Oh dont get me wrong I love the staff here they are some of the most respectable and honestly site editors/reviewers/etc. around these days, but even they can only control the community so much. And really besides the news and reviews the main reason I stick around is the community. Honestly as the reviews and the news keep the same kind of quality I will be around even if I am not part of the community.

@tasuki I always find your posts to be well thought out and insightful, but to recode the site would be unessesery when you could just as easily pay no mind to those who you find undesirable. I'd also like to believe that we as fans (not fanboys) of Sony and their games will never become the kind of community NL is, honestly I don't see any reason we would have to defend Sony as much as Nintendo fanboys do with their outdated systems.. No offense.

I think it would be a good idea in general to be able to block somebody, just to have that kind of choice if you'd want it. For me it's enough to just ignore a poster whose reasoning I...strongly disagree with cough. The feature might be helpful in the future, though, when the community grows and the number of annoying people rise. I sure do hope though, that we all together with the Pushsquare staff manage to keep the community respectful and as enjoyable as it has been so far. Besides the excellent reviews and articles (Sammy, do you ever sleep?!), the community is what made me stick to Pushsquare and makes me return here on a daily basis.
@Madd_Hatter: Also, this community is luckily mostly fanboy-free. People on here seem to be able to enjoy their opinion/system of chice without having the need to spoil the fun for others who chose differently.
I'd like to think that we can all get along. Yeah, I've seen this feature on other sites. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement - as I'm not involved with the technical side - but I can bring this up. However, I think a more positive solution would be to try to ensure that everyone's communicating and contributing in a positive way.
The forums and community in general are areas I'd like to work on in 2014. Thanks for the feedback.
@get2sammyb: Yeah I know what you are saying, I am not that technical either so I didn't know how hard it is to put in something like that either. I would like to think the same that we can get along it would be nice, but then again this is a far from perfect world sadly. Also I just thought that a user block feature would make it a bit easier for the mods and also help keep the forums clean from such negative arguments.
Thanks for at lest taking the time to listen and think about it.
