Got an email today about another PS initiative to provide feedback from gamers.

It reads a little something like this:

"The PlayStation Owners' Club is an ‘invitation only’ online community where you can share your direct thoughts and feedback with PlayStation. We want to hear from a select group of PlayStation gamers to help us shape the future of your experience.

As a member of this exclusive community, you will be periodically sent surveys to provide us with feedback on your experience and important gaming topics.

Our goal is for PlayStation® to provide the best experiences for you and the gaming community. Whether your feedback is good or bad, we just want to hear from you.

If you’re interested in joining the community, click below to start the introductory questionnaire so we can start getting to know you!"

So, has anyone else had this email? (I wonder just how 'exclusive' it is 😅)

And, whether or not you have got this, or whether you intend to sign up to it or not, maybe this could be a good place to sound off to potentially collectively make a very small difference to the platform in the future. I.E we could compare notes here on any potential feedback for any topics that the PlayStation Owners' Club is being tasked to answer questions on and give feedback about. And anyone who is a part of the PlayStation Owners' Club can potentially use some of the ideas posted here on PushSquare in their own feedback. Almost like a structured operation to provide Sony feedback in a certain way, possibly carried out by multiple eligible members at once.

I imagine that a concise, specific selection of feedback from PlayStation Owners' Club members will potentially have more use to SIE than people shouting into the void on social media about stuff they may or may not actually care about, for example.

This all could be a bit of nothing, but maybe it will be a good opportunity to give worthwhile feedback on some of Sony's recent decisions in the console and gaming space.

And for my final word on the matter, I will channel Mark Cerny:

PlayStation Owners' Club, quite simply it's the most powerful way to provide advanced feedback and next gen suggestions to the noticably choppy PlayStation executives.

When it seems you're out of luck.

I received the email. Googled it after (before would have been wiser, maybe) I completed the survey just to check it’s legit. Didn’t request any dodgy info, so I’m guessing all is good. Only mention of it appeared here, so, since I check this site a fair bit, but never had an account figured I’d join and reply.
Survey asked if I had the PS5Pro (I have it preordered through direct) so said yes. I felt like a fraud. Seemed odd to be asking when it’s not out yet.
Anyway, we shall see.

I did receive it and then googled it after just like WhyAmIHereIAskYouSay. Very curious to see if this leads to any measurable changes.

A Playstation/ Sony run forum by invite only sounds like an awesome thing to me. I very much miss the PS forums... it really has been ultra weird not having the boards these past few years...

I agree the forums for Playstation were toxic after they switched from Sony based staff (thats when the toxicity started) and even worse after PSHome shut down. It seemed there was an huge issue with hackers and haters. Maybe it had something to do with price gouging, or the tasteless admin actions in the forums, the clicks, and favortisum to some members? I felt the brunt of this myself twords the end... or maybe it was after shock from the issues with PSHome before it's release to the public that Sony refused to fix because they did not know how to fix the backdoor security flaws? Maybe it was payback for the April Fools issues? Who knows why it went toxic, yet sadly it did.

The influx of non gamer related folks did this to our forum gravely too... it was a nightmare trying to find actual game related Playstation stuff in the mess of half life style requests in the forums and fashion show crap.

However I was on the boards for decades when it was a very informative and friendly place from the late 90s till the 20 teens.

With this said, again I think the rules that are being implemented in the agreement and it being invite only will have a huge positive outcome for the future of an official Playstation Forum! Power to the players right?

I just hope it's not another gimmick like the Vita Hill club, or what they have turned PSPlus into now.
