Is great (sue me), so should I buy the full thing at £37? Can it be played totally in VR? I read that there's three concerts on one review (based on US store, they can be bought individually), but that doesn't seem to be what this is; any help appreciated.
I've fixed it. Paid £12 for the first seven songs.
Miniview...
It's a bit buggy: For example, the AI doesn't seem to know where you are, so Hatsune can literally run 'through' you, which is a weird feeling (poor Demi Moore). Yet, if you like J-pop/J-core and almost nightcore, there's music here that at £1.50 a track isn't the end of the world.
Gameplay-wise, there's not much. Give your stick a wobble, cry out at the right time and you'll get a private show. Unfortunately, it's in a kind of Holodeck environment, which seems a little weak to me (I preferred the concert venue, which feels large and is quite immersive). There are a few rhythm game elements that I might be giving too much credit as they're shallow, but if this gets fleshed out pointing your wand at the symbols in time to the music feels natural, and is quite fun. The mic that's built into the headset is active all the time and you will get better rewards(!) if you follow the crowd's lead - note that some of that is in Japanese, but I found that as long as I sound half-close, it works.
For the My Summer Lesson buyers, you can change her outfits as additional ones unlock as you play.
As for being in a real concert, I hope this is something Sony certainly pursue, because I'd happily pay for bands that I don't even listen to normally, based on experiencing this.
Is it worth £12 for the first seven songs - yes, because that's not a rip off for seven songs. But as a game, probably not so much and I find that a strange feeling that's given me food for thought regarding what is value, and what isn't.
