Ok, just a quick question.

I've got the PS5 physical version on the way. It will be delivered tomorrow.

I want to play the VR mode more than anything, but I still don't have my free adaptor for the PSVR to work on my PS5 yet. So I only have access to VR on the PS4.

Therefore, I'm under the impression I'm screwed, as the disc would allow me to play the PS4 version on my PS5. But I wouldn't be able to put the PS5 disc into my PS4 to access the PS4 version.

However, on the ioi website it says this...

"To make sure all PS VR owners can experience the game in VR, we’re including a free digital copy of the PS4 version of HITMAN 3 with all PS5 copies, whether you choose to buy it via disc or digital."

This is a bit ambiguous as it could be read either way.

1. Put the PS5 disc in, get access to the PS4 digital version while the disc is in the PS5
2. Added the PS4 version to my library on the PS5, then I have access to it on my PS4 without the need for the PS5 disc.

I'm guessing it's the first (as it normally is), but their wording adds further confusion to the whole situation.

I know the other way around (to upgrade), you keep the PS4 disc in the PS5 to play the PS5 version, but they use the words "free digital copy of the PS4 version of HITMAN 3 with all PS5 copies, whether you choose to buy it via disc or digital."

I just want to know if I need to send my PS5 copy back (and buy the PS4 version) or am I safe to open it.

Apologies if this is hard to understand. It hurt my head trying to type it. Haha.

@SoulChimera you're right, it is confusing as it doesn't confirm whether you will be able to access it on an actual PS4 or only on PS5 via BC. However, I would imagine you'll get a download code to add to your library so you can download it on either console.

My adapter came through pretty quickly though, like on launch day. So you might want to chase that up?

@antdickens Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure anyone would be able to make sense of my post haha.

I've chased up with Sony Customer Services several times. I keep getting the "may be delayed due to current situations" email. Which I agree with. Just not over 80 days of delays. Haha.

I also phoned them and got transferred to Sony's New Zealand Customer Service. That was interesting. Haha. I guess I'll just have to wait.

I'm at work now, so I can't try it, but for anyone wondering, it looks like you can play the PS4 digital version on the PS4 for free with the code included in the PS5 physical box.
