Topic: PSVR permanent price drop, where are you?

I was really hoping on a price drop for the complete psvr package. What happened?

@themcnoisy I was expecting a price drop across the board to be honest.

That said, I think that won't get announced until nearer the holiday season. In defence to Sony, they are only just getting on top of the supply issues so it may be they want to get more units made before dropping price. There are some current bundles that are cheaper if you buy the bundle but that doesn't reduce the price per se. That said, we should be on for a price drop if they really want to get it into peoples homes.

I think that October, the 1 year anniversary would be a good time for a price drop and then push to get VR into lots of homes this Christmas. As so many have a PS4 now, then a VR headset is a nice holiday addition. They should also be bundling move controllers and cameras in personally.

@Rudy_Manchego me too, even a drop to £325 or £350 with the camera. A sweetener to go with the VR games.

Seems like a real missed opportunity to me.

@themcnoisy You can get the bundle right now for £349 with a game or two but that is a limited sale for E3.

I think the camera needs to start being bundled in, I really think it makes it harder to market. You see the box and then oh that's great but you also need this thing as well. Puts people off.

@Star-Lord can't buy it right now, just helped by the wife a car. That's why I want a permanent drop for later in the year. Possibly after EGX I will pick one up but I was hoping to buy the whole setup with a few games for less than £400.

Keep an eye out. I bought a discount on Amazon ($50 off) for the headset + a discount ($25 off) on the camera. Later the camera was being thrown in for free online and at retail stores.. but I think that stopped shortly after E3 mind you. I do think the headset and cam should be a standard bundle - no exceptions.

I do not think it needs a price drop just bundle more games with it for the same price. Also you can pick it up cheaper than the £350 at most places.

So apparently PSVR and PS3 are getting an update this summer that'll allow you to use a headset in place of your TV screen. According to Kotaku it'll be the final system update for the PS3. It was supposed to launch sometime last year, but was delayed.
