PSVR is amazing for the price, it works so well. Kudos to Sony for actually delivering on something that works. Compared to previous motion capture tech (looking at you kinect) its a million miles better. Moving forwards though what is the big change or alteration you want with psvr 2?

I would just hope that they allow PS5 to use the current PSVR headset. PSVR is held back by the PS4 and even the PS4 Pro right now.
In terms of a new headset, I'd just want higher resolution and higher FOV. Build quality/design on the current headset is great and it has a ton of room to grow already.
In terms of controls, I'd just want dang analog sticks on whatever they come out with next.
But how about more GT:Sport implementation first

@KratosMD I may be crazy, but the games were you have one point of reference or still are the most immersive games! I cant play eve valkyrie as I was about to blow chunks. But could spend 3 hours playing statik.
Have you tried it yet?

@themcnoisy Yeah I agree. Even without getting motion sick anymore, I find games that require movement often don't feel all that immersive compared to stationary games.
@KratosMD I too would like to see analog sticks, but Skyrim VR pulls off dual move controls extremely well (as long as you disable snap/teleportation and don't get sick). As much as I do really really love PSVR, it is clearly a first attempt at VR, but it's also a glimpse of the future.

@KratosMD Yeah, A LOT of PSVR games are still just tech demos. Many of which were scored a bit too high in my opinion. While some people believe these tech demos are better show cases for the platform, I still strongly disagree. Full fledged/features games are what showcase a platform. Games like Job Simulator last an hour or two before it's charm completely wears off....
For me, Skyrim VR, Gran Turismo Sport, Farpoint, and RE7 were decent enough for me to buy in at the discounted holiday prices, but it's a tough sell at full price. At least in terms of the Move comparison, it's a bit different. There were a handful of good Move experiences, but most were just shoveled add-ons that didn't really improve the games. I feel at least the VR additions to supported games truly make for a significantly better experience.

@KratosMD There will 100% be a better version of VR. Trust me when I say this though, you wont care once you are in the game. You really wont. The 'cons' dont exist when it all clicks together in an immersive game. Ive had to pack mine up today as Im back in work from tomorrow, Ive always loved gaming but am resentful looking at normal ps4 games now. Why the hell am I gonna play abstracted games when Ive just experienced being in them? Ive been trapped in statik and been on the rush of blood rollercoaster, had a cigar with Frank in the dog and duck and looked my neon opponent in the eye before smashing a left spin blaster past it with with my head. PSVR is absolutely insane.

Back on topic, Im hoping the next gen psvr is easier to set up. With the whole thing plugging in with 1 cable into the ps5.
@NathanUC Have you tried Statik yet? It has a demo.

@themcnoisy Yep, I've been playing the coop Statik stuff. Really good game, but very short. It borders on tech demo to me since it could just as well be played outside of VR with minor minor minor tweaks.

@NathanUC are we talking about the same game. Whats the co-op stuff? I thought it was sp only.
I thought it was fantastic. Way more than a tech demo. Alot of my time was spent thinking and looking around. I didnt enjoy the last box arm trap, it was a bit too obvious and as a last puzzle not very challenging. I wasnt a big fan of the ending either and think it should have been more subtle or twisting like the rest of the game. But the hand trap boxes looked real, and the way they worked were all unique. I think its a masterpiece myself only let down by the 2 issues mentioned above.

@themcnoisy It has coop if you use the PlayStation phone app. Much much more fun in coop too! The puzzles are different than the SP ones. It's probably the best use of the PlayStation app.
I think it was an excellent game, but still far too short, no replay value, and again, I don't feel being in VR added much to the experience. I feel it would be just as good outside of VR. PERSONALLY, I didn't find it that immersive because the hand trap and head tracking was a bit odd.
Part of it might just be that the novelty of VR is somewhat wearing off on me I think I still prefer VR to non-VR, but things like the roller coaster in Rush Of Blood no longer feel real. The only game I still 'feel' the motion is occasionally in GT:S.

Better quality screen but that would probably mean a bigger price point so would be hard to do. The detail is great when you see close up objects but those in the distance lose quality. The design is great fits well. Movement in VR has always been an issue. Some kind of sensory product for your feet so you can simulate walking when sitting down would be useful. Would make walking forward atleast feel more natural. I currently have a pillow of the floor that I use under my feet.
Intergration of the processing box for PSVR into the body of the PS4 unit.
@themcnoisy Hoping to jump into VR for the first time within the next month.
Have you played Thumper, been playing these past couple of days, it makes me flinch when I hit a wall in Non VR, so god knows what it's like in actual VR.
Gen 1 PSVR has already surpassed my wildest expectations.
When I got it at launch I really believed that I was just investing in the technology. At most I would get some tech demos out of it and some cool experiences, but here we are.
Going to echo what others have said here. Better resolution and less wires would be a start.
I would also like new and revised move controller. Whilst they do work, I do feel like they are holding back the tech at times. I had some real issues with tracking for Rush of Blood at launch (don't know if that's been fixed yet).
Whatever happened to the VR glove controller? Hope to see it in action one day.
This might be a 'my set-up' problem, but I also find that the weight of the cable from the PS camera sometimes tips the camera over towards one side a little.
I think I've pretty much adjusted to movement in VR. It's still game dependent, but for the most part I'm fine. Rigs and DriveClubVR were/are just too much for me, but I have no problem with Resi7 and Skyrim.
I did try out DoomVFR for a little bit last week and the teleportation worked surprisingly well. It's probably my preferred way of movement in that game.
@adf86 Thumper was my first game in VR. Those bends in VR are just awesome!

I think the improvements are obvious: higher resolution screen, fewer cables, lower latency, better tracking. The bigger limitation with PSVR right now, in my opinion, are the PS Move controllers. They're good and I think Sony was right to recycle them, but it's going to be amazing when they come up with new motion controllers.
@NathanUC I dont know how you could play statik without vr, the looking around the box and checking out your surroundings. The best thing about the game is it really makes use of the ds4 and psvr, rather than cramming a current genre onto the headset its a new thing. I played for about 6 hours altogether, Im pretty switched on but some of them really had me stumped then you get an ahh haa moment. Total get your point on it being too short, but I completed Portal in half the time and still rate that as a must play! Must try out that co-op stuff! You sound a little fed up with psvr lol.
@dryrain Im gonna try that pillow trick! Going forward though how would would movement work? Its the biggest issue with the tech for sure. Every vive demo unit Ive tried has either stopped working or is broken on arrival.
@adf86 no unfortunately all the games Ive played from best to worst are;
Statik, Destruction Ball, Headmaster, London Heist, Rush of Blood, Eve Valkyrie and Luge. I wouldnt class The shark attack on vr worlds as a game. Batman is in my library and have Rigs and this months psvr game still to try. I do try to rinse everything from games I enjoy, so spent most of my time on statik and Destruction ball which is brilliant imo. I think Im on my own with the latter one though.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Ive been using a ds4 and dont intend to buy the move controllers. Ive had desynchimg issues with the ds4 so multiple lights would be worse I presume.
@get2sammyb yup agree with all of that. I havent noticed any latency head tracking wise which is a miracle! Or maybe just the games I prefer.

My view on PSVR is that it is what is needed to get people invested in VR and it hits a good price point over the technology. I think Sony should keep on that angle as it looks to the future of its VR products, be it with upgrades or a new version.
That said, as much as I love VR, I have played it less in the last few months, mainly because of distractions from other games/consoles and also because some of the limitations that prevent me being a power user.
1) Controllers - games designed around the move controllers are inherently limited. DOOM VFR was massively let down by not having one definitive control type. A lof of the multiplat games are built around the Vive/Rift controllers which allow for movement (or so I have been told). That means the PSVR ports need a lot more rework. Looking at you Arizona Sunshine.
2) Cost of games - £15-£25 for VR experiences only a few hours long is hard to justfiy, particularly when the quality is a little all over the place. Not saying that length is everything but as we move out of this 'new' phase I would like some longer games or cheaper pricing.
3) Resolution would be good, as would better tracking. These are niggles and limitations but defo should be fixed.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
I would like to see a lot more VR experiences and the ones they have could do with being a bit longer. I would like to experience things in VR that I am never likely to do in real life. Go places, see things. This side of the PSVR does not seem to have really been explored very much so far.
