Topic: PSN Recommendation Thread

I have barely scratched the surface of PSN.   So I would to hear some of your favorites.  Especially, original titles.

@JayArr... also the new Laura Croft game is amazing. I do have to recommend the first Soldner X. The new update added a easy mode to get you started learning the levels and unlocking the last levels and when you kick up the difficulty you have a fighting chance. Incredible two games and some of the gest PSN has to offer.

@NES.... Laura Croft if fantastic and GameInformer gave it 9/10.

It's *Lara* Croft, and yeah, it's pretty decent. Not life-altering, but decent.

PSN games I recommend -

Planet Minigolf
Q*Bert (retro hit, that)
Alien Storm: Breed (surprisingly good)
Catan (take it online and it's a decent version of a brilliant board game)
Greed Corp (freaking hard, but good quality board game, too)
Age of Booty (good fun, but basic - online is dead, but still worth a go)
Luminines Supernova (if you're into puzzlers).

And then a whole host of Minis that are good for console play too.

@sykotek.... you know it actually did get decent rating and I think there is a demo, and yeah it did indeed get a $9.99 drop at one point so Im sure it will happen again.

Next Year: Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes

Definitely seconding Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. It's one of the best DS games I've played and the HD version looks even better.

Oh, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 needs to be on this list. Obviously.

I would totally recommend Crystal Defenders to those who are fans of both tower defense or Final Fantasy. But mostly TD fans.

Oh and if you have the choice, get the PSP version. It doesn't have the online functions like it's PS3 counterpart, but heck, it's portable and it has artwork of the characters in the game rather then all sprites.

I recommend every PSOne Classic that isn't a sports game or a First/Third Person Shooter.

I recommend FFIX. It's my favorite FF game, so of course I'd recommend it first, but also FFVII and FFVIII. Also can't forget Metal Gear Solid.

@zez.... FF7 was my first RPG believe it or not and I played the crap out of it. I bought FF8 on release and beat it. I recently obtained FF9 thru PSN and played about 10 hrs of it and enjoyed it but got a bit bored with it. Im not a big Final Fantasy addict anymore now that Ive gotten my hands on some great JRPGs I care very little for anything else in that genre.

Metal Gear Solid is prob the best game on PSone and PSN hands down. I just played through the game again last week!

Is TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled any good? Looks like a great game to pick up along with Scott Pilgrim.

I'm thinking of grabbing Fate/Unlimited Code somewhere down the road. Anybody know if it really is any good? Especially now that the price dropped (Permanently)?
