@CaptD yeah the Mercenaries games (particularly Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction) is one series of games from the past I would love to get remade. The Legacy of Kain games would be another.

@colonelkilgore I actually have the LoK in my steam’s wishlist. Would love to play those.

Worst loss of playtime due to a crash ever. I’ve been doing the ambient events on The Saboteur and as they don’t class as actual missions, the game doesn’t auto save after each one is complete. I was on the verge of completing Paris Area 2 (212 events and I had 3 left) and the game crashed. I’ve been ploughing through these since 8am this morning and they all have to be redone. Fuming! 🤬

Oh how annoying, there goes a few points off the final score.
Just as well the Devs have closed down otherwise I would have sent a strongly worded email to their support desk.

@CaptD think I’ll write a strongly worded email and send it to EA anyway… not about The Saboteur or anything, I just think it’s about that time of year 😉

@colonelkilgore tell ‘em to stop requiring an EA account to play Wild Hearts, thank you.

i’m still playing through the infamous games. i beat GoW3 (again) last month, and it still holds up extremely well(originals>remasters)! the ps3 is a powerhouse & such a great console for its time and even better than this generation imo. i’m still buying more games on it that i’ve overlooked in the past .

@Malaise Once I got started repeating my steps it wasn’t so bad tbh, probably got it done in half the time it initially took. And yeah a fantastic game that is up there with my favourite games I’ve played so far this year. So sad that EA ****ed Pandemic.

@nomither6 yeah inFamous 1 & 2 are phenomenal (particularly the sequel), would love Sucker Punch to return to the series after wrapping Ghost of Tsushima 2.

@nomither6 Can't exactly argue with that. Maybe it's a bit of nostalgia given how important the PS3 was to gaming for me still to this day, pulling me away from the Xbox 360 and particularly online gaming for good, but it is probably still my favorite console. So many great games.

I know the current generation has been a disappointment, but I still do have a lot of games to play between PS4 and PS5 games, so unfortunately I don't get on my PS3 anywhere near as much as I'd like. I still have several games waiting in the wings (including inFamous 2), but I was really glad I found my old phat PS3 in my basement a year or so ago regardless.

@KilloWertz agreed, it was a very important generation and the impact that it had is still present today on all facets (whether “good” or “bad”) . it was such a groundbreaking generation with console devs, and game devs alike trying all kinds of things and taking risks; i consider 7th gen the sweet spot between the good of 6th and 8th generation. I’m surprised to see that the ps3 pulled you away from the xbox360 and online entirely, because it was the opposite for me. I love both PS360 and consider the PS3 to be the best playstation of all time, but the xbox360 was just so damn good & the online was so fun - the controller, achievements, party chat, multiplayer exclusive games, xbox arcade; it was so appealing, but no doubt was the ps3 a more robust and powerful system with better single player games (and FREE ONLINE)

both consoles excelled at something the other didn’t , so you had a reason to want both, just like 6th generation. Also , regarding ps4 and ps5 games, i don’t think there’s no rush in completing them. With the xbox360 store closing soon, id say 7th gen has very very little time left before its obscure/obsolete, whereas this generation is barely off its legs so most of the time where all playing ps4 games on it anyway.

@colonelkilgore I have little doubt. I've had it installed on my PS3 since before I obviously packed it up and put it in the basement years ago before finding it again. I have no idea why I never played it after loving the first one. I guess I'll thank myself eventually, but I still don't get it.

@nomither6 The Xbox 360 was a really good console when it actually lasted. I guess I was ready to bow out of online gaming at the time, making it easier to leave it all behind. I've still owned an Xbox every generation, mainly because I'm a Gears of War fan, but that was the last generation I did much of any online gaming.

It's more or less just trying to get through my massive backlog rather than specifically choosing to play newer games over my PS3 games. I fully expect the current generation to last longer than usual due to the pandemic really messing with this gen. That messed things up in so many ways that this gen is still trying to recover in certain ways. I'm fine if it lasts longer though, as unlike when I was younger, I play a lot more different kinds of game, so I have a lot bigger of a backlog than I would have back then. That and the devs haven't come close to maximizing the PS5.

@KilloWertz I know you’re focusing more on PS4/5 games at the moment , but just out of curiosity - what’s your ps3 backlog looking like? you mentioned earlier about infamous2, any other games you plan to play eventually?

@nomither6 I got a copy of Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition off of eBay about a month and a half ago. I also got Dragon Age: Origins last year that I still have to play as well. I've already played it on Xbox, but figured I might as well restart the series on PlayStation. Those are 2 that come to mind other than inFamous 2.

@KilloWertz nice those games are more on the lengthy side. i don’t blame you for prioritizing newer games .

I have the final side mission on The Saboteur left and that should be for the plat 🤞, then onto Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which I’ll be starting tomorrow. Have only ever played Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night previously, both of which were quite different from each other but I enjoyed both quite a bit. I know that LoS will be an even bigger departure from the norm what with it being a 3D Character Action game rather than a 2D platformer/metroidvania but that’s fine as I’ve slowly grown quite fond of the Character Action genre over time. Hopefully it’s a good’ un.
