I'm going to pick it up this week. The reviews look good, though still waiting for the one from this site, 🤔. The minuses I'm seeing are for too much reading and clunky combat. I can deal with that if the story is good and it appears to be excellent.
Everybody's playing HZD. Torment was never my thing, but I did love RPG's of old. What I would do for Icewind Dale 3, loved 2 to bits, still have the game CDs somewhere, and probably will replay it (again and again) one day.
Still no review from this site? Not even a honorable mention. Plenty of crpg fans on this site, I know it's up against Horizon, but.. Anyways for me it's s great game. Yes it's text heavy, but a great story it is. I would recommend to any rpg or tabletop rpg fan. Plenty of replay value as well.
Backed the Kickstarter so had it on PC from release, I'm guessing it hasn't appeared here due to limited resources having to be allocated on what they think is going to be most popular, but it mght also be due to not being supplied with review code. Seems a decent homage to its name sake from what I've played is my current impression.
I would be probably playing it right now, instead of Horizon, but I've heard the PS4 version's technical and performance issues are quite big (both from players and reviewers). Some of people claim the port is straight up broken. Torment was one of my most anticipated games overall so I'll either get it later on, when they hopefully patch it or play it on PC.
For me the game does have a few frame rate drops, but not being a heavy action game it didn't bother me. I also had a pathing issue once where the character took an odd walk around the area to an object I selected. Neither are game breakers for me though.
@Elodin yeah I was looking at picking this up, appeals a lot more to me than any of the other similar titles on available on the PS4. Too much backlog and not enough time or money but I'll definitely pick it up, Mass Effect was going to be next but I think I'll try this instead when I get time.
@ApostateMage Haven't played it yet, but followed it closely enough to answer you. It's definitely more full-fledged RPG like Divinity, but with heavy focus on the narrative and choices. Supposedly it's possible to finish the game without killing anyone.
