Wow to my surprise we don't have a thread for this game .

Anyway in my egerness for a good deal I decide to order Arkham Knight from Amazon. However a few hours after I ordered it I though wait a sec why did I do that? Normally for games like this I like to wait for a GotY edition to come out and get it then rather then pay for all the DLC seperate. Well I went to go cancel the order but it was too late, the charged my card and shipped it already.

Long story short I am stuck with it now, no way to get my money back and if I trade it in, I will take a lost on it. So since I am stuck with it I want to ask what does the DLC include? Like is it anything story related or is it costumes and junk like that? I won't she'll out anything for DLC but I just want to know if not having the DLC makes a huge impact in the main story.

None the DLC matters to the main story. And frankly none of it is worth it either. At least from what I can tell. The Batgirl DLC was alright but nothing special. The Red Hood and Harley Quinn DLC was a pointless waste of time.

The Red Hood and Harley Quinn were giveaways with pre-orders - Harley for all and Red Hood via certain retailers. None of the DLC playable content has any impact on the main game and are pretty much play 'once' and maybe last 20-30mins. The Batgirl one is a bit bigger (by what I can tell), not even made by Rocksteady but has a few more things to do in than the other 2 but again doesn't add anything to the main story. The rest of the DLC has been a collection of skins etc so far. I guess, like Arkham City, there wasn't much worth owning if you were only interested in ''Story' (not cosmetics and challenges) and so far this seems similar too

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

@Tasuki: can you not return games to Amazon? I'm certain you can with dvds so wouldn't it be the same as long as it's sealed?

From 16/08/15 I’m going for sober for six months to raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice. Donations can be made here and anything you can offer is greatly appreciated: https://www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Butler5

Wish me luck!

@SteveButler2210: @kyleforrester87: I guess I could do that but I am horrible at that kind of stuff. Usually I get so busy with other things that it would just sit waiting for me to take it to the post office for the next time I go out. Lol

That is idea though. But maybe if it's just costumes and stuff I will just play through it and trade it in later. I was thought I heard that some of the DLC was story related stuff that you would miss out without getting DLC. If that was the case I don't like to support publishers that do that by paying for a game and then DLC on top of that, that's why I usually wait for the GotY editions and get it all for one price, if that makes sense at all.

So I got my copy of Arkham Knight yesterday and upon opening the case I found codes for free costumes, and a few extra missions. One of the costumes, was the Adam West one so I am quite happy with that one, only other one I wanted as well was the 1989 Batman stuff but I have some PSN credit so I might get that here in a few days.

Haven't had a chance to play it yet due to a stupid day one update, grrr so hopefully I will get sometime with it tonight.

Wow is it me or is the Batmobile the worst driving controllers ever in a game this gen?

Match that to the awful Riddler side missions and you've got a possible game killer. I'm grinding through the thing in bits to get to the 'true' ending. Hate Edward Nygma!

I don't think you're missing much from what I've seen so far from the DLCs released. The Batgirl DLC I've read could be completed in 45 minutes. The other DLC which is 1989 Batman Pack comes with the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batsuit and Batmobile and some race tracks. Problem with that Batmobile is that it has no battle mode so its helpless against the tank drones.

I do however like playing as Harley Quinn but that DLC was pretty short as well.

I like the game but I do have to say that there's a slight repetitiveness to Arkham Knight. Plus, boss fights are not something Rocksteady's good at.

That's actually the one I was looking at too since I loved that movie. Kinda odd that the 89 Batmobile doesn't have a battle mode I mean who could forget the scene where Batman shoots down the garage door with the Batmobile? Guess the devs where just feeling lazy that day.

I actually loved the Batmobile. I thought it provided a great change of pace for the series.
I thought it handled almost perfectly too. It was just what I imagined it would be like. It's shame it's been so divise, rather the almost universally loved Batman gameplay.

@Tasuki: I actually wanted to purchased the 1989 DLC before I started my Knightmare difficulty play through but found out that I couldn't use it for the drone fights. When they first announced that DLC I really psyched and I haven't given thought about the battle mode at all but I guess at the end of the day it made sense since in the movie the Batmobile couldn't transform and strafe sideways.

@WanderingBullet: I'd have to watch both Batman and Batman Returns again since it has been years since I have seen them but I could have sworn there was a scene in one of them where the (Burton's) Batmobile wheels turned sideways and it did a strafing type move.

@Tasuki: Oh wow, I honestly don't remember that scene. :/ If that's true I don't know why Rocksteady didn't make that Batmobile possible for the drone fights.

I haven't used any of the DLC yet, but I think it's lazy of them not to just make something up for battle mode if something doesn't already exist. Making it only half-useful is insane.

@Tasuki: Future DLCs will include a Catwoman story DLC and Christopher Nolan's Batsuit and Tumbler skins.

@Tasuki: Oh, cool. I haven't log in to check the PSN Store yet this week, thanks. Yeah, that 1989 suit looks really good.
