Topic: BETA 4.00 Download Speeds

I'm getting incredibly fast speeds on the Beta - I have 300mb to the house fibre, and was getting about 10mb of data a second via LAN. Now I'm getting more data than my connection can theoretically handle (25-30mb/s) - how is this possible? Anyone found the same? Literally getting a gig a minute minimum :!

Not noticed any difference in speed but then again my connection is slow. I get about 1.5 gb per hour dwn load.

I've heard a few people around the web say that they've noticed a speed increase, too. It could be a placebo effect, or it could simply be that Sony's tightened something up in the firmware which has somehow boosted the download speed. I assume we'll know more when the firmware's officially live.

I really hope so. Takes me forever to download stuff at the moment.

I downloaded PCars today, and got the same ridiculous rates. When I first got fibre, I calculated that the maximum I should be able to get (bearing in mind I get the full 300mbits in my house), is 10megabytes/s. Again today was getting 15-25megabytes per second. Maybe I've done the calculation wrong, but if not, I don't see how this can be.

I guess since it's beta that it could be possible that the PS4 is simply giving me duff info.

That said, it's definitely faster.
