Topic: Civilisation type games

I would like to see a Civilisation game on the PS4 I enjoyed the one they did on the PS3 it was fun. Now with the touch pad and a better performance console I am sure they could do something with the current gen console. But not heard any news. I read about Grand age Medievil might give that a go but read it was more about economics. Does anyone know of any games like this either out for PS4 or coming in the future?

Have a look at Tropico, it's not exactly the same as Civ but I think it's the closest you'll get. Also take a look at Nobunagas Ambition, that game has more of a focus on combat and strategy than Tropico or Grand Age Medievil as far as I know. Both those games have been reviewed on this site so search for them here. I don't think there's any game on PS4 that replicates everything Civ does, most games that are similar to it tend to put more focus on one aspect of Civ and have this aspect as the core of the gameplay whereas Civ provides a balance between different aspects. Also if you have a Vita CIv Revolutions 2 is due out on that console this week I think?

I have not got a Vita but read that Civ Rev 2 was out on IOS so might give it a go on my tablet. I downloaded Tropico 5 when it was on sale not played it yet hopefully that will fill the void for now. Not heard of Nobunagas Ambition so will check that out. Thanks for the feedback

Whatever you do don't buy Bladestorm. Its meant to be a semi strategic turn based yet action game thingy set in France. But its garbage.

Disgaea 5 is always there. Its a tactical rpg but with strategic elements, maybe that will scratch the itch.

Tropico is fun although I haven't played it on ps4. That's more a city management type game - although set on a pseudo Cuban island.

The remake of x-com is wonderful last gen - it may even be on sale now for ps3. I'm biased I have the original x com for pc and have intermittently played it since its release - which I cant get to run with windows nowadays grrr. This is also coming to vita!!! (only day 1 on vita for me)

When alls said and done, civ is better on pc. I understand that civ rev is fun. But compared to the full fat versions of civ 3,4 and 5 it lacks the real depth and customisation. Then there is Cities, Patrician, Sim City 4, Transport tycoon deluxe (this is free I think), rollercoaster tycoon and settlers. I would recommend them all.

I played xcom on the ps3 great game hoped for xcom 2 on ps4 but no joy. I remember playing the original xcom years ago they did a good job updating it. I did own Bladestorm for a very short time on its release it was sold quite quickly lol.
