Topic: Console Wars - observing the chaos!

Im posting this because I want to hear about personal experiences and your point of view, Im following IGN comment sections closely, not really their reviews as I mostly disagree but the comments man the comments. You risk damaging your brain reading through them but here and there there's some entertaining puns and downright craziness. In one way it entertains me in another way it shows it's disgusting face when typical first world problems are driven to the maximum of ridiculousness. Anyways, it's nice to take a glimpse into them and now as X1 reviews start popping in and they are - god forbid - NOT stellar either (so many people, regardless of platform seem to forget that it is hastily developed launch games on a foreign platform) its downright chaos in the comments section.

Whats your take on all that?
Is it entertaining? Annoying? Stupid?
Or are you yourself strongly in one camp or another?

Im in the camp of people that thinks "people that want to justify their own choice of WHATEVER by making others feel bad about THEIR choice are assholes"

I honestly just try to avoid it as much as possible. There's discussion, and then there's just stupidity -- and this console war nonsense almost always falls into the latter. Fortunately, once the Xbox One embargo has fully lifted (they're dragging things out it seems), we'll be able to put a lot of this silliness behind us.

It's so silly arguing over launch titles, anyway. Since when did the PS3's rough release impact it's later titles or success? (Same applies to Xbox 360, too.)

Completely agree with you Sammy.
The console wars is just silly and I generally avoid reading the comment sections on a lot of sites because of that. One of the few sites that I don't do it is this, because there's almost always a healthy discussion and not a fanboy statement. It's so great that PushSquare is my main go-to site to see what's new about Playstation.

I agree with you both, except I like to take a peek. Sometimes I wonder if people are really taking it as serious as it appears to be in the comments. I mean, if people REALLY have a bad day because there was a cool game released on the OTHER platform and such things...

Honestly Im watching ALL reviews closely, Im still excited for my Killzone experience and also Im glad for Xbox gamers that Dead Rising (despite technical flaws) seems to be a good game (I personally am not absolutely not into it) and Killer Instinct somewhat managed to turn out being a great fighter (if you can believe the reviews so far). When I was still on Xbox360 and saw The Last of Us is coming to PS3, I was happy for you guys and even decided to jump ship and now I am with Playstation! This has nothing to do with personal preference of a BRAND or fanboyism, for me, limited on time and trying to give my hobby gaming a nice financial balance it just makes sense to stick with ONE system first until maybe later when prices drop. I have also a Vita and a 3DS and a PC, and honestly, I enjoy them all from time to time and even IF I only had a 3DS or Vita I would never be pissed because the other system gets mercenary or Zelda. Weird!

And Sammy, thanks for your reviews and "in-between" articles, as it seems to me that you're a wonderfully reasonable person having a similar taste than I have, it's nice playing some game and AFTERWARDS checking one of your reviews about it and reading a similar line in it than I was thinking when I was playing the game!
