Topic: Do you finish all your games... ?

Hello guys. I am one of those people who forces himself to beat a game even if I don't enjoy it. By beat, I mean just beating the main story to the end credits, not to 100% completion!

I have beaten most of the games I start even when I get bored in the middle. I admit this is stupid, as I am just wasting my time, as I can just move on to another game in my huge backlog. It's just part of my OCD I guess, and is something I need to just ignore going forward.

So, my question to you all:

Do you beat all your games? Or play til you have enough and move on?

I usually get there in the end. Probably. I can go back years later and finish things. I never do it in one sitting, I’m rubbish at that.

Didn't use to. Some games still slip between the cracks, although, generally, I finish what I buy these days.

Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)

Ugh. Men.

The Witcher 3 was the first game that I finally gave myself permission not to finish, it was such a chore and I was falling asleep playing (late night, mind you). It made me realize that not every game is for me, and it is okay to dislike a “good” game. A couple other games since then I’ve happily put aside, like both Divinity: Original Sin games (which was because a single fight took up all my playtime and it was just too slow going).

I tend to be picky with what I play and only play one game at a time.

As such, I almost always complete games. I think Sonic Forces was the last game I stopped playing midway through but that was a PS+ freebie.

Nah, life is too short to do stuff you are not enjoying. Plus I've got many other games that I could play instead. Most games will have a section when there is a lull and its not hitting the same heights as it was before. But do you stick or twist? I usually go play a complete different type of game. If I'm still not feeling it after, it is time to ditch it and move on.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Usually yeah. I have to be really struggling with a game to ditch it. Unless some sort of game-breaking bug or crash happens which blocks my progress (Mafia III I'm looking at you)were

Mind you, I find it much easier to discard a game if I got it free on PS Plus, there's been loads of those for me this gen. Lords of the Fallen, Mad Max, Just Cause 3....

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

I probably finish about 90% or so of games I start, but I do tend to be fairly picky about what games I jump into. If I'm really not into a game then I move onto something else.

Time enjoyed is never time wasted. If you're not enjoying it on the other hand..

I try to finish most games I start. There are some exceptions. Elex comes to mind. I liked it, but I found it too difficult.

I finish most, but I’ll probably abandon about 20-30% of the games I start. I live in the space between “I want to see this through, even if it’s not going well” and “I’m not wasting time with a game that doesn’t grab me in the opening hours” My usual approach is to set a game aside with plans to return to it when my mood changes later, ...only “later” never comes for many of them.
(I never thought I’d try Undertale again, but here we are)

I only finish about 20 or 30% of games I start. I only finish a game I'm really enjoying or one with a story I want to play to conclusion. The main thing that drives me to finish a game tends to be story. One thing I do find is games that I've enjoyed enough to finish are often the games I will play more that once. I just don't have the time to push on with a game that has become a chore, or if it core game play looses its sparkle.
