My R2 button seems to not be working properly on GTAV. For some reason I can no longer shoot or hit top speed in vehicles. After Googling it, it appears to be a common problem. Strange.
I just discovered that there is something wrong with the charger ports on one on my DS4 last night. If I plug it in I have to wiggle the cord around to get it to charge and then I hae to lay it down at a odd angle otherwise it won't charge. I know it's not the cord cause the cord works just fine with the other controller.
That is my biggest complaint with the PS4 the controller durability. It sems that the DS4 is just junk and the fact that there are no third party controllers make it even worst.

@KratosMD: Well open it up and clean it out if you haven't already, if you used WD40 or something similar on it it'll be thin enough to just wipe off without using something else to break it down. It's not really tenacious enough so will get everywhere when you spray it in. It's just for displacing water really. A bit of Vaseline straight on the springs would be enough to keep them lubed. But then dust and rubbish will get stuck to that so you'll want to replace it every 6 months or so I guess. I'm sure @themcnoisy carries around a pot that you can use...
@KratosMD: Open the controller up bro and clean it up. Dont be worried its pretty easy. My first pads RT was sticking opened it up and replaced the pin. Only thing you need to worry about is opening the pad slowly, there's a mini printer cable (dont know the exact name of this connection but they were in old computers) attached to both sides of the pad front and back. So to get space to work you need to detach that. Everything else can stay put. Get cotton wool buds to clean the area round the triggers. You may find the trigger is placed weird or you could have the problem I had but not as bad.

More hilarious woe from the Dualshock 4, this time its the Version 2 supplied with PS4 slim. The battery is apparently dead but still works while plugged in. Great. At some point I'll open it up and poke around. 4th controller with issues, tiresome.
@Kyroki It could be the cable iteslf. I had that problem and replaced the cable and everything works fine now. You can get one for about $5 to $10 at places like Target or Walmart.

My 'New' DS4 - the one that came with my Day 1 PS4 Pro in November - has already worn out the thumb stick to run - just like what happened with my DS4 on my first PS4!!! Bloody Ridiculous!!! Sony really can't compete with the quality of the Xbox controllers - especially the Elite!!!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy That sucks. Mine are honestly fine, as is the blue one I got last Summer. My two launch ones got worn to hell though, so I know what worn ones look like.
@kyleforrester87 Both my 'supplied' DS4's gave up working properly within 3-4 months and both with exactly the same issue. The Thumbstick gets 'stuck' down so won't allow you to 'run'. You can literally pull the stick back up but as soon as you start running again it gets stuck back down!!
Never had that happen with any Xbox controller or my DS3's. I never expected that to happen with my 'new' DS4 as I thought Sony had improved on them since the initial PS4 launch but they must still be using 'cheaper' thumbsticks so you end up having to buy replacements!!

i'm still using my launch DS4, works perfectly - and that's with a ridiculous amount of time in shooters (killzone sf, BF4/1, CoD, and particularly destiny) over the last 3+ years. i did put dimpled thumb-grips on it when i got it, mainly for preference as i'd done that with all my PS3 controllers, but seems to have had the bonus benefit of protecting the rubber on the sticks from pealing off, which i know has happened quite a few people.
the main problem with PS3 controllers that i had was that they didn't bounce off walls very well.
I agree the durability of the DS4 is bad really bad, its something that I would expect from a third party controller but not a first party one. I still have NES controllers that are 30 years old and are still in great working condition. To make matters worst is the price for a replacement is ridiculous as I have never seen them go any cheaper then $50 and add to the fact that there arent any third party controllers. That is the one downside to the PS4.

@KratosMD The trigger presses the button underneath that clear plastic bit circled in red on the top. Try pressing that in with your finger when its plugged in and turned on to see if it works. That plastic cap probably comes off. Might be worth giving it a tug and poking round with it before throwing it in the bin.
