I've been comparing demos, dang its hard to decide -I think Pes edges it as normal for playability, and i'm not a massive footy fan these days - so the full licensedness of Fifa isn't essential for me either. However,I like the career mode in Fifa, and all its bells and whistles..The worst problem with either would be the rubbering banding though,Pes used to be horrible for it,Fifa to a lesser extent imo.Coudn't really notice it in either of the 16 demos..Whatcha reckon y'all?
I haven't truly enjoyed a soccer game since the PS2 era of PES. The games still play more or less the same, but there's so much annoying stuff layered on top that I can't get into. Every year Konami promises to bring back PES to it's former glory and every year they fail.
@Wesker: Agreed, after playing the FIFA demo and owning pes 2015 - video game footy is playing a last gen game which is fun, but its not like real football at all. Pes 2015 is the best pes since 5 on the ps2, however its far from perfect and the players are small compared to the pitch it weird.
@special_donkey: Depending where you live, if you are in the UK its a no brainer . FIFA replicates every prem stadium and puts more effort in.

@themcnoisy: Hmm,yes i think fifa wins probably -based on the extra content and licenses, and less rubbing banding probably.Unfortunately my local team Torquay united won't be in it this year though..(they're to rubbish!) @Wesker: i think pes gameplay is nicer in general, although some of the older ones (original xbox,ps3) made me rage with the rubber banding stuff (hitting the woodwork 4-5 times in a 3 minute half, impossible to make a tackle! ect..) maybe its just me.. in any case,i'm not pre-ordering anything..Inclined to get Fifa i think.
@special_donkey: Torquays lovely, got friends in Paignton and Exeter who are not a million miles from you.

@themcnoisy: Hehe, small world..Devon is okay, nice place to visit -not so much to live there..Been here a long time.. Anyhow, Fifa it is then, unless anyone wants to convince me otherwise?
@special_donkey: Used to live in Eggbuckland Plymouth for 7 years, ran a call centre in the city centre. Really miss Oggy Oggys, Union Street, the Barbican and Janners in general. Great place.

@themcnoisy: Janners lol..I Went to college down in Plymouth, used to play heads and volleys up at the Barbican -Although i'm more of an Ivor Dewdney guy than Oggy Oggy (mmm, pasties) Used to go raving at the dance academy on Union street, too (Legends of the dark black!) before it got shut down..Good times.Devon is nice but i'm just a bit bored of it i guess. Um,oh yeah Fifa 16 vs Pes 16 anyone? i think i've decided tbh.
@WanderingBullet: Yeah, that is quite disappointing -and like i said i'm not the biggest footy fan these days, but even if you overlook the lack of licensing in Pes,its still a general lack of content compared to Fifa..Pes though..It does have bit nicer gameplay generally I think. Its difficult..I'm going with Fifa this time,i think..
No issue with licences since they added option files via USB... Just wait a few days and someone would have done the hardwork for ya via the PES Community..
I am gonna go with PES this year as just bored of FIFA, with the above mentioned Option file ability meaning that beyond a year, i can still play with up to date sides.. May pick up Fifa when cheap, but that demo, didn't do much for me..
I stood there chattering in excitement, like a necrophile at a bus crash....
@dellyrascal: I see, thats interesting -good move from Konami.Still a little concerned about less content and rubber banding though. Its like,Pes plays generally better but Fifa has a better managerial aspect,Any how i guess they'll both be decent enough -going to wait for some reviews at least..
@dellyrascal: @special_donkey: Thanks, didn't know you could actually do that. Found some online guide and youtube clips regarding what @dellyrascal said and even though it seems a bit of hassle that you have to manually paste and rename the clubs, at the end of the day I guess it's better than not having the official licensed kits or emblems.
Pes World have done some great kits for PES 2016. It's abit of a pain in the backside but really worth it. One poor aspect of PES is that the update for new rosters won't land until next week. Should really be a day one patch!
But, regarding gameplay PES is brilliant this year, hands down better than fifa imo. Although fifa's commentary, sky sports like presentation is unbeatable. To be honest, they are two good games which is good for fans of the sport.
Pure gameplay wise, PES is back to its PS2 heyday.
hey guys I need some help on deciding please - i didnt play any soccer game before but I want one and cant decide which one is better suited for me
I played both demos - Fifa16 and PES16 - and honestly I dont see any real dramatic difference between those two, although I kinda feel that passing is far more complicated and frustrating in Fifa, the ball tends to mostly miss the target (or am I just too bad LOL)
But the overall presentation of Fifa looks better, though I kinda think that PES has better player animations but Im not sure about this
So does anyone can give me advise pls - which one of those two is more easy to get into for beginners like me, more rewarding and motivating in singleplayer, and which one is better offline (i love to play with/against my friends in offline multiplayer).
@consolfreak1982: FIFA 16 easily, as mentioned above I can beat Liverpool with Everton at Goodison in our official kit. The online component is strong and there's loads to do. I've just come off it and my son had a game on 2 button controls and helped on a dribbling challenge. I think alot of people are bored of Fifa as its been the best footy game since fifa 10 - but if you haven't played one before the games ace.

@themcnoisy: thanks very much for your help/response! I figured that Fifa might be more appealing for players like me, not just because of all the licences, i hope its accessible and addicting as well I usually dont play online any more (I just lost nerves for it, too many players do rage quit or play against the rules/are not understanding the "team aspect") therefore I always look for games that are good in solo and offline multiplayer (I have friends over very often so we do play ps a lot together).
I heard a rumor that PES is just coop offline - is that true? Not being able to play against each other offline would be a definitive reason not to buy the game for me
