Not quite sure where to post this, so I just made it a topic. I have been wondering for awhile now, Where are the FPS games against AI? I don't mean games that don't have campaigns. Although those seem few and far between as well. Take Stars Wars Battlefront for example, I remember having so much fun playing Stars Wars Battlefront both 1 and 2. Is it that hard to include a capable AI in the current Stars Wars? It has so many positives. You don't have to play online. You won't constantly be sniped at spawn points. The longevity of the game would greatly be increased. Think of the failed games that could still be played like Evolve or even ones coming out that can be played long after the human element has left Battleborn, Overwatch, etc..
Now I'm not saying that online or squad play isn't fun, I just want to be greedy and have both.
I think publishers / developers purposely leave out AI bots these days. It's advantageous to gear people towards online play (people stay engaged more, don't trade in the game, build up a community, buy DLC). I agree with you that it's super lame, but that's my guess why.
Really good topic - watched this vid on Youtube which investigates bots and the lack of bots in most modern games.
If you don't have time to watch it, then in essence the guy concludes that bots are expensive to develop well and becoming less relevant to players because of online play. That isn't to say that he doesn't lament their loss because he makes the good point that without bots, within 1-3 years, almost all FPS that are multiplayer orientated will be dead since the multiplayer community will often have moved on, especially on consoles.
I miss bots on FPS since it was a good way to train up and also fun to boot up old games and have a good play for nostalgia reasons.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Rudy_Manchego: thanks for the great video link. It is kind of what I suspected.
I hope some day a game company puts out a dlc of just bot missions. It might be cheaper for them. Many may not buy it though. I guess my heaviest gaming time was during the heyday of bots. For now I will just hope for a remastered Timesplitters 2. @Tasuki OR maybe I'll pick up black ops 3
@Elodin: I believe all CoD games have a bot mode, I know for a fact all the Black Ops games do, the others not sure cause I only played the others online.

Gaming FPS bliss right there. Im not surprised as both had bots.

Started Doom yesterday and have been pretty impressed the multiplayer experience. Feels very much like playing Quake.
Sadly it is loadout based rather than having a classic weapon pick up system.
Unreal Tournament 2 was my favourite multiplayer FPS to play. So I was wondering is anyone has any FPS recommendations along those lines for PS4?
SciFi setting, decent spread of collectibke weapons, snappy movement: that sort of thing.
