Anyone else find the game hard? Admittedly I am only on the second boss, but for me even the first took a bit. I am no Dark Souls player or at least not yet, so maybe most find the game easier. I am enjoying it quite a bit, but for me it's quite brutal. The score is great and even the slow walk between haven't annoyed me yet. The art is fantastic as well. Besides being on the hard side the fights are long. I might just need more practice.
I found boss 2 easier than 1 as the arena was larger. But im good at shoot em ups like geometry wars 3 which has really helped. Im stuck on boss 3 currently, its boss 3, phase 2, the dudes on a pillar and im clueless as to what I need to do.

I'm looking forward to getting stuck in. I think I played Boss 1 pre-release and found it difficult, so I wouldn't be surprised if later bosses are punishing.
I got some way through the first boss then turned it off to play Warriors and EDF instead - seemed good though, will definitely be coming back to it later on in the month!
But find this good fun. Just watch the tutorial - then take your time, if you die... So what, the next time you will have the attack patterns down a touch more.
@SKC_Diamond: Is that it? He shoots a yellow beam out - will just have to dash before it reaches with all those bubbles bouncing around. Is a charge shot better or just firing loads?

I haven't tried it yet, but it seems much twitchier than a souls game. Souls games are slow and deliberate, meant for you to dissect the situation. This looks faster and reflex based, meant for you to memorize the pattern and test your mental fatigue.
@Mega-Gazz: Yup your right and wrong at the same time, the moves of the bosses follow a pattern so you can knowingly cut their attacks off or move away and around them sometimes with loads of time to spare, you also have a bit of leeway to batter them from afar with your gun until they close you down. So you dont need awesome reflexes to git gud on the standard mode which I have played so far.

Basically I agree with everything the review said. I do wish specifically they'd be more clear about when you are able to damage the boss. Seems to be orange==immune? But also sometimes I found myself being punished for trying to hit him...
anyhow, neat game that is fairly easy to pick up and drop, has a place in life
@Kidfried: I think you should give it a try at least. I beat the first boss after two tries and made one attempt at the second boss. The game is challenging, but very fair and very rewarding. I'd say give it a go if you have PS Plus and 30 minutes to spare.
I'm really liking the game. Haven't played too much & I only just got to the 2nd boss last night, but best +game of the year for me.
You really see you yourself get better, I got decimated by the jailer at first but by my 5th go I took almost no damage. It make you feel so bad ass.
I only faced the 2nd boss twice and he's definitely easier than the first, managed to get him down into his final phase by round 2.

Totally agreed. Its quite engaging, and definitely skill-based. Best + game of the year probably. Maybe best + game since Velocity 2x.
I do wish you could walk faster between bosses, and WTF is up with being able to light up your suit?
Started playing this today, it's intense but really good! I'm up to the fourth boss, and I'm close to beating him - I just can't quite manage his last stage. Been stuck on him for a while and he's not too tricky up until the last part. Anyone have any pearls of wisdom?
I'm up to the final boss now and I have to say the game has been great and the boss I'm on is probably the hardest yet and @Quintumply you can actually shoot the orbs if you didn't know really helped me
@SKC_Diamond: Yeah, I know you can shoot the orbs. It's just in that last section where he sends out a bajillion different things. It's hard to navigate everything at once!
I've actually made it past him now, and the fifth. I'm now stuck on boss number 6, she's a tough cookie!
@SKC_Diamond: I got her! She was super tricky. I love how this game rewards skill and good timing, and aside from the third boss, the difficulty curve feels about right so far. I'm now on #7 and she's just as tough as the last one, if not more so.
One important thing I learned (by accident) is that you can actually parry bullets. Comes in handy if you can time it right, and it does a little damage to the enemy if it hits them on the rebound.
@Kidfried: I think that fans of action games generally will be able to take something away from Furi. It merges twin-stick shooting with hacky slashy action seamlessly. There aren't any crazy combos to learn and there aren't a lot of tools at your disposal, but it really makes the most of what you have. Each boss has unique attacks that force you to be reactive, but at the same time, they don't really deviate from their patterns, meaning you can "learn" the fight and improve your time/rank.
There's not a whole lot to the game, but the fights I've played so far have all been different and are very satisfying to win. It's a great PS Plus game. I'm surprised how much I like it to be honest; I thought I'd find it way more frustrating and that it would be insurmountably difficult, but the balance feels really good. For me, anyway. I can imagine some players not liking it for its short length and its tough battles.
I've rambled a bit there. Basically, I think if you like action games at all, you should give Furi a shot
Yea I made the mistake of starting this at 2am in the morning and got wiped out a few times with the first boss so left it alone for a while but going to go back to it once I have time seems like the kind of game that if you can 100% it will be very rewarding
