Topic: GAME online Pre-Orders

Morning all.

I've read a couple of posts around the site that people had been contacted by Game to upgrade their pre-orders to the new bundles.

Having had no contact I decided to email Game regarding my online pre-order for their exclusive.  Killzone pack (made in June) to ask if I'd be able to upgrade.

I didn't expect this response;

'Hi Nathan,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately I have looked into your order and can confirm that you will be unable to change the bundle.

I apologise for any disappointment.

If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact us.'

Anyone else having trouble upgrading?

When did you pre-order? They're giving everyone those that pre-ordered first the option to upgrade, so I'm guessing you're not at the top of the list... :\

Hey Sammy, mid June was when I put the pre-order in.

I guess you're not top of the list, then. Presumably the people that ordered in February/March are being offered the bundles.

I preordered my PS4 in July and I got the phone call to upgrade :/

Very strange....

The only difference is that I ordered in store.  Perhaps it is different online?  Can any one confirm if this has happened to them using the online store?

In my reply I asked why I couldn't upgrade and said I'd read some people had been called to upgrade.

I asked if I could transfer my pre-order to my local store and upgrade.

They referred me to [email protected]

Still waiting for a reply from them.

ZeD, you're on the way to confirming what I think is happening, that store pre-orders are getting priority over online ones. Pretty shoddy if that's the case.

I imagine that it's easier to be at the top of a local store's list compared to online, though. If you imagine that 25 people pre-ordered at a local store, you might easily be within the top ten. Whereas thousands will have probably pre-orered online.

It sounds to me like what Sammy said is right.  The upgrade option is probably only for those who did preorders at the store.  The email was just probably sent out to anyone who had a preorder no matter if it was online or in store.

I hope you get everything sorted out.

Have you tried talking to a manager at your local store?

I wonder why you people don't order with amazon, I never had a problem with them in over a decade of being their customer.
Always reasonably priced, always on time. And mostly I order from co.uk (despite being located in austria, where .de is my destination).

Not yet, I'll wait to see what the PS4 team comes up with.

If possible, I would change my pre-order to my local game shop simply because I'd be able to get the console at midnight and not have to deal with shipping. I've already had two packages lost or stolen from my place in the last month, not to mention one product from Amazon came damaged (they replaced for free naturally).
