Just wanted to point out that I am extremely happy with my PS4 lately, there's just so much to do on my limited time-budget. Im still immensely enjoying Watch_Dogs and since yesterday also the Killzone COOP DLC which is just... FABULOUS! Serious KUDOS to Guerilla and I'd personally smack every reviewer in the face who has written off Killzone just for being Killzone. Easily the best shooter I've played in a long long while and it keeps entertaining and surprising me!
Also, Resogun. A game I was sceptical about first, then grew to love it, now with the update and the DLC is just pure awesome. The Shipeditor let's me fly around in a WWII STUKA or a Tardis if I so wish. Which I do. The new game-modes are awesome and the little tweaks to the formula extremely welcome.
On top of all that am I now enjoying Ground Zero too AND got a Playstation Portable and with that an immense backlog of some of the best handheld games ever made!
Just wow! Sorry, had to share this!

I agree, mate. I really love my PS4. Still enjoying Watch_Dogs tremendously. I am still in act II and have no hurry to...well...hurry. Just love to hang out in the game and do all sorts of stuff. Got Another World yesterday and still love it. It's in my all-time top 10 and being able to play it on my PS4 on the big screen is fantastic. And Resogun...oh boy...I loved this game from launch on. One of those games I come back to again and again for "just a few minutes", only to realize I have burned away 2 hours again at 5 minute-pieces. I'm not very good at the game, but I'm having so much fun. The new game modes (well, Survival, mostly) have sucked me right back in.
And of course I can't wait to try out the new Killzone DLC. I liked Killzone 3s campaign better, but I love the weighty feel of the gunplay and the game looks gorgeous. I enjoyed the mp way more than I would've thought and since I love co-op in general, I'm sure I'll have a blast with the co-op DLC, especially since I tend to play support classes better (I'm not a front line fighter).
So yeah, I'm very happy with my purchase. There are thing that really needs improvement, though. The share button still doesn't work reliably for me when I want to grab a video. Sometimes it just doesn't get recorded, but if I press the share button again, the new video that does get recorded starts at the last point I pressed the share button (where the vid didn't record). I lost some nice footage that way. I know, first world problems, but still.
And another thing is the unreliable quality of the PSN. there's either a maintenance break or I just can't connect to the servers on a weekly basis. And I don't think it's my internet, because everything else works just fine and the PS4 displays a working internet connection when I test the connection. It's just the log in into the PSN servers that doesn't work. There have been 4-5 occasions during the last few weeks where I wanted to play online or access the store where I wasn't able to do so because of this. First world problems again, but since PS+ is mandatory for online gaming on PS4, this has to improve. If online gaming on PS4 was still free and PS+ just a bonus to get free games, I wouldn't complain, but hey...
To give credit where credit is due, Microsoft manages this whole online-thingy way better and more reliable. In general though, I find them disgusting and greatly prefer Sonys attitude lately.
Wish I could say I'm enjoying it as much. Now there's been some very good games, great even but overall, 2014 was a pretty underwhelming year pretty much across the board with the possible exception of Wii U, and of course that's only if you like Nintendo games. If I didn't like Nintendo's first party games, there'd really be no reason for me to own a Wii U, unfortunately. Hopefully 2015 will be a much better year. There's still some cross-gen games coming out but at least there's a fair number of games designed strictly for the current-gen that I'm looking forward to as well.
Well, I don't own a PS4 and I'm very happy about it. By the look of things I'd be pretty underwhelmed if I already had a PS4. I'm enjoying Ground Zeroes on my PS3 and I don't really care about first person shooters, so Killzone would probably be a miss. My Wii U is getting a lot of use, specially since I got Assassin's Creed 4 and Splinter Cell Blacklist very cheap. However, my most used machine is definetely the 3DS as it keeps on giving. It's probably my favourite system of all time and I'm really happy about it.
Yeah, I agree. I've been very happy too. I've had various cross-gen games, and indies to keep me occupied when I'm not playing a shiney PS4 game. The only next gen retail game I have so far is inFamous: Second Son, but I am extremely happy with it. I played it and loved it, I spent countless hours running around after I beat the game (and beat it 100%), and Paper Trail was great. Now I'm doing my second playthrough on expert and loving it. inFamous was worth buying the PS4 for, and has made being an early adopter completely worth it. My Plus ran out a few days ago, but I'm gonna resubscribe today. I've got a friend coming over and I want to try that co-op update out. With the Resogun couch co-op and the weather/photo mode inFamous update, I've got to say, updates are starting to be realized with their full potential this on PS4.
Bought a few games recently for it but the problem is the only games on PS4 I'm remotely interested in are ones available on PS3 too. I'm actually paying more just so I have the excuse to use the machine to stop the dust gathering on it. Only taken, what seven months, for me to actually play it. Only just realised it doesn't tell you when someone comes online too, another simple and common sense feature missing. Like the people who designed it are idiots.
"Oh smeg. What the smegging smegs he smegging done? He's smegging killed me."

No offense but why did you get the PS4 on launch day? If you haven't had anything to play on your PS4 for 7 months it might be your taste to blame and not the console itself? And, out of interest, what games - those that are on PS3 as well - are you interested in?

Rasta has a damn good point about some of these missing features. Some of it is so basic it's beyond ridiculous not to be there. Even if half the crap is stuff I wouldn't use I still realize this is far from a perfect machine right now. Fortunately for Sony, MS has exactly come out of the gates with the heavy hitting games either. Although of all the console exclusives due this fall, Sunset Overdrive is probably the one I want to play the most and it pisses me off I have to shell out another $400 on top of the $60 plus tax because Sony says 'we have to own the ip.' #fortheplayers my ass. The PS4 will be a good console with time, but this start is definitely slower than I expected. This whole gen each console had a slower start than I expected. We'll see if 2015 really is the year. MS announced a lot of stuff at E3, I'm hoping it has more for Gamescom and TGS we'll see. Sony is still playing things close to the chest, or, whether people want to admit it or not, may not actually have sh*t to show. I don't want to hear about momentum and how exclusives don't matter though. They do. Are they the most important? Obviously not for Sony and MS but they do help for fence sitters trying to decide which console to get first. Sony needs to start announcing some more stuff to continue on its current pace. It says it has stuff for Gamescom and TGS, so again, looking forward to those shows. I just hope it's more AAA than indies. PS4 is already perfectly fine with the latter.
Got to say a friend came over the other day and played Infamous and watchdogs on my ps4 and he was enjoying it so much he decided to get a PS4. Watchdogs is not the 'next gen' game the media wanted us to believe it was and I ve always been aware its only a cross gen game but its so much enjoyable on PS4 and DS4 with the triggers and touchpad you use to move around the map and tap a way point. It also depends on people expectation I got a limited budget and still play on PS3 and Vita as well as I think people need to keep their PS3 too at least to fully enjoy PS+ waiting for Sniper Elite review for my maybe next PS4 game
The crowd, accepting this immediately, assumed the anti-Eurasian posters and banners everywhere were the result of acts of sabotage by agents of Goldstein and ripped them from the walls.

yeah but on the flip side of the coin, you can see if any of your mates are online at any time on ps4 by swicthing back to the home screen seamlessy on ps4 (which u Couldn't do on ps3) withou it slowing to crawl!. Also the feature was removed because if you have say 40 plus friends, then the notifications can come thick and fast and get pretty annoying an distracting while playing online. Its not idiotic at all. Infact it makes sense to remove the annoying pop-ups . I mean who cares if zingerxxxsmash12 has just gone offline!!!!!

As much as I love my PS4 and don't miss that notifcation feature at all, in all fairness you have to say, that on xbox360 you had the options to set WHAT notifications to show. Like "coming online" "going offline" "non" or "all" etc... It will come in the future, I'm sure, but until then I'm way too busy playing my games than to care for little oversights than this. At least the PS-OS runs stable as a rock, friend of mine with Xbox One doesn't seem to be too happy...

The ps4 does notify you when a friend has joined a party. But i hope the full scale on and offline notifications stay away from the system . So distracting IMO especially if you are racing on line!! Or at least make them optional for the user.
