Hey folks, lets play a bit with our metaphorical magic 8 ball. Lets try to predict review scores for our PS4 games (as being scored here on pushsquare).
Here I go:
Assassins Creed Black Flag - 8 Battlefield 4 - 9 Call of Duty Ghosts - 7 The Crew - 7 Division - 8 DriveClub - 7 Infamous: Second Son - 9 Knack - 7 Killzone - 9 Lego Marvel Superheroes - 8 Need for Speed Rivals - 8 Planetside 2 - 8 Resogun - 9 WatchDogs - 7 Warframe - 6 WarThunder - 7
Yes this thread has absolutely no purpose other to kill time and have fun until PS4 launches, and THEN go back here and do the "see, I told ya so"-thing!
The way it looked on Fallon's show I consider a 7 to be overperforming. The game has been underwhelming with each showing since its reveal and sadly I really don't think the delay is going to be used to improve the game too much. To me, it's just so Ubi isn't competing with itself by releasing two 'open world' games in AC IV and WD at the same time. I'd love to be wrong but Ubi isn't the greatest developer. It does manage to pull a gem out of its @$$ every once in a while but most of its games are above average nothing more.
you know what i think you may have got them right, at least they sound about right for the games
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
We're in your head now. So when you review a game, is it YOUR score you're giving or the SCORE you have seen here and that has been magically burned into your mind for ever and ever on? Huh?
We're watching you...

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
Added The Division and The Crew. I have high hopes for the Division but I can imagine reading something like "too much for its own good" or "a step in the right direction but needs polish" and about TheCrew I could imagine something along the lines "so much of promise only hampered by sub-par controls and car physics"
There you go sammy, "lend" those lines and make my day sometime in the future!

@Scollurio Call of Duty: Ghost's a 7? With how the mainstream gaming press love to pander to Activision when it comes to CoD, I'd be suprised if it got anything less than a 9 lol That fish AI is so revolutionary even an 8 would be blasphemy
I think most of your projected scores seem like they'd end up that way. With how Killzone has been looking to be so much of an improvement over 3, Anything less than a 9 would probably be a shocker for most. Should be an interesting time at launch
What, no 10/10? I'm interested in hearing what everyone thinks about our general review tone.
Do you think we're quite harsh? Too lenient? Consistent? Overly picky?
Also I hope you realise that I'll be purposefully scoring everything on this list differently just so I can post here again saying, "Well, no one got that one right!"

It wouldn't suprise me if you did actually do that lol
Your reviews at PushSquare are usually always spot on. Theres only a handful of game reviews these past few years that i'd personally disagree with (Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory as a 6/10..pfffft lol) As long as you dont end up like IGN when it comes to reviews and start pandering I'll be happy

I don't know, I feel uncomfy about giving out 10s to the first wave of games, things can only improve from there and what would you give a "The Last Of Us 3" or whatever, coming out in lets say 5 years...?! A 12?

Lol the only reason I did this was to imagine fallout 4 was on the near horizon. I could have thrown shenmue 3 out there also but we know that's not gonna happen :-/.. The fallout engine needs major work but the concept is still awesomely strong!! I stand by my scores though and predict very similar from true critics who are not me

Coming back to that Call of Duty subject, I mean, how can any seriousy reviewer give it any better than an 8, at max. I personally would give it a 5 in advance already, because you pretty much know what you get. Compared to the other next gen titles the graphical fidelity is sub par and the gameplay as the frantic spraying crap like always. Still it will sell like bottled water in the desert, but I haven't touched a call of duty game for a very very long time and I'm not about to change that!
Gimme Planetside 2!
