So did a playthrough of the demo tonight and before I give my impressions let me just say that I have been a huge fan of Mega Man since the NES days. I remember my best friend back in the summer of 1991 going to visit his grandparents in Texas for a few weeks. I remember him writing me saying that his grandparents rented him a Nintendo from a local video store with some games, one of the games he rented was Mega Man 2. Before that point I never heard of Mega Man so I didn't know what to think. When he came back he clearly explained how much he liked it and we tried to rent it from our local video store but they didn't have it, instead they had Mega Man 3. Needless to say we got it and I was introduced to Mega Man that day. I have played and beat almost every game of the Classic series so I know my Mega Man so when they announced Mega Man 11 my younger self jumped for joy so after playing the demo here's my thoughts
First of the graphics are nice for a current gen take on classic Mega Man. Yes I prefer the sprite graphics but being that they wanted a Mega Man for the current gen so that being said the graphics suit the game very well and give that classic Mega Man feel. The controls however felt a bit stiff for being a Mega Man game especially when climbing a ladder. I don't know if this will be improved upon the get release or what but Mega Man just didn't feel as fluid as the past games.
The level design was a bit disappointing. Now I don't know if every level is going to be like this in length Block Man's felt too long and went on much too long. While the rooms and traps did suit the boss I just felt that it didn't need to be that long. In fact most of my deaths came from getting bored of the level. Other then that I liked it. The boss battle was good too. I never felt that he was a cheap boss.
As far as music went it was average but then again that could just be that level. Even with the original NES games was every levels music great so maybe that's the case here.
And my biggest gripe with this game so far the Double Gear system. Well let me say while it's an interesting system and I can see it helping newer players to the game, veteran players shouldn't be forced to use it. Then again every new thing introduced in a Mega Man game they darn well make sure you use it. They did that with Rush in Mega Man 3, and the Mega Buster in Mega Man 4 like, so it's no surprise that they do it with the Double Gear system. Quite honestly I.couldnt see how I could get pass some points in the stage withough using it.and In shouldn't be forced to use it.
Over all I am impressed with it, minus a few niggles. It's classic Mega Man returning for a new gen. It's definitely a better game then Mighty Number 9 and I am looking forward to this game.

i had a lot of fun with the demo but yeah i can see it's not perfect but i think it will appeal to the fans of the old games
@Kidfried it does have an easy option that helps a lot but even then it can still kick you butt if your not paying attention
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
@Kidfried Forgive if what I am about to say sounds arrogant or rude I assure you it's not suppose to sound that way but you know how stuff can sound in print plus I am also finding hard to type what I am trying to say.
Anyway yes I can see where some might find it hard mainly the forced parts of using said gears and the length of the stage and some platforming segments but overall I didn't find it too difficult.
I find that alot of people who find Mega Man difficult just didn't grow up with Mega Man or even during the NES era. Most people that find them difficult grew up in the era of 3D gaming so quite honestly just have a different set of skills when it comes to gaming and not the skills needed for a old school platformer. When I grew up just almost every game was a platformer of some type due to the popularity of Super Mario Bros. Mega Man, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Kirby, Contra I can go on and on. After playing those types of games they become second nature. Especially when you play them over and over. We didn't have save points, unlimited lives, health refill points etc. That alot of modern gaming does nowadays mainly younger gamers just don't have the skills to play without that stuff as it's engrained into them that oh if I die I just start at the point I die not three rooms back or even at the beginning of the level. If they are running low on health they know where a med pack is and can refill etc. Oh I got a game over let me reload from my save point where I am at the boss that killed me instead of having to start the game all over.
As someone now who has played the Mega Man games extensively I don't find any of them too difficult, yeah Mega Man 1 has some cheap points and the fact you have to do it in one run but they can be overcome.
Anyway I guess what I am getting at is if you put in the time an effort just like anything else you will get better it just takes that time, you can't just brute force the game like main of today's games. In that essience it's kinda like Dark Souls series. However allot of gamers nowadays don't have the patience to do that so they just dismiss the game as being too hard. Where as it's just a case of slowing down watching patterns and learning
Again hope that didn't sound wrong and I apologize if it does.

It was already confirmed that you can beat the game without using the double gear system:
@Storytime7 That was a nice video but it was edited or that's an early version of the game. Cause when I played it that part where the Spike colume chases you was alot longer then that.

@Tasuki Are you talking about the conveyor belt sections? Those weren't edited. I think it depends on how long you take, but the amount of obstacles during those sections isn't always the same. I've beaten the stage a few times (even without using the double gear system), so I'm not just going off of that video. I also checked Gamexplain's video of the demo, and it was the same as the one I posted above.
@Tasuki Oh yeah. One level tells you nothing about the game as a whole. If I had judged Mega Man 2 by Quick Man's stage I'd never have even bothered playing that game.
My first instinct was to complain about the double gear system, but there's really no reason to. I'd just be acting cranky for no reason.
I like that you you can summon rush with a dedicated button. And the burst shot is nice for taking out enemies quickly.

@Kidfried Your welcome. I just have a hard time expressing my thoughts. Alot of times it comes out like I am being negative or insulting, but that's just how I am in which I don't mean to sound insulting or what not. Anyway back to the topic at hand
I will admit first timing playing Mega Man can be hard but in the end it's all about patterns and slowing down and just learning. I remember when I first got Mega Man 4. Well after playing Mega Man 2 and 3 for years and basically knowing those games inside and out, I of course didn't know 4 at all and it just kicked my butt. So I dismissed it as too hard and a bad Mega Man. Fast forward 20 years and I was talking to someone on Nintendolife and how Mega Man 4 was hard and cheap compared to 2 and 3 and they told me the same thing, it's only hard cause you don't know the patterns yet and bosses weakness. The order of the stages to do them stuff like that. So I decided to give it a try again on the Anniversary Collection on GameCube and soon afterwards I beat it and it's one of my favorite in the series. Also if you are ever having a problem you can always looked up some YouTube videos and such that can help out alot.
Heck for some fun check out a YouTuber called Roahm Mythril he does actually no damage buster only runs that can be quite entertaining.
