@Octane It's a dance you'll learn over time. Getting 1 hit is never fun, but it's almost never 'cheap' either. It's due to player mistake, so it doesn't feel as bad as some other games. It's just a series learning opportunities.

Unlocked High-Level hunts and now the real game starts. I could have done it sooner but didn't want to rush it. I'm like 50 hours and haven't even thought about playing anything else.

How do you unlock the lady bug armour for your Palico?

Also, any idea what the 3rd limited bounty is for this week? Mine just appeared as "???".

I've become hooked on just going in and helping on SOS flair missions. I've been on with up to 4 people killing the baroth, people seem to get stuck on this one a lot. It's an easy way to build up that amour and do killing large monster bounty.

Is this viable to play solo? This sounds really good but hear that after about 10 hours you will be missing out unless you play co-op.

@JohnnyShoulder I think it is viable to play solo. A lot of the joy for me comes from playing with randoms in a group. Like @Pud80 above, I am also hooked on answering SOS calls. Certain weapons seemed to be designed with group play in mind for buffing and such. Also, the banter and visual chaos makes the whole thing feel a little warmer (if that makes sense).

@JohnnyShoulder Perfectly playable offline/solo.
This is my first Monster Hunter & I've not been online yet. Clocked up 30 hours, HR8 & never felt like I was struggling taking on an enemy on my own (just keep upgrading your gear).

Even when playing offline/solo you are still joined by your palico (unless told to stay) & tail riders may be recruited during an investigation. So your never really alone.

@WanderingBullet To get the Palico Ladybug Set, you need some Great Hornfly for low rank. I believe you get them from your Botanical Research Center rarely. (I know you can gather them in the forest too, I just can't remember where. I know it is rare)

@NathanUC Oh, I see. I actually haven't tried to cultivate anything, yet. I'll try cultivating some later. Thanks again.

I've been getting these cards sent to me, cant remember what there called now I've accepted them and nothing else has happened, does this mean I can now join them on the game like a clan or squad for the amount of time this player is on line??
I've just done my own and sent it to the list of people on this server, and again nothing happened no ones joined my game or invited me??

@Pud80 Not entirely sure, but I believe you can use that person's Palico during fights if you've accepted his/hers guild card. You'll come across other players' Palicoes (the ones you've accepted) when you're out exploring.

There is a trophy for having 50 Guild Cards sent to you. When people send you one they want you to send one back. All you have to do is go to the player list click there name and click send card.

Yeah, most people won't join your game like that. The best way to get people to join your quest is by SOS flare.

@Shellcore @Fight_Teza_Fight Cheers guys may have to get this a bit later in the year when I've cleared some of my backlog.

@JohnnyShoulder In a way, it's far more viable solo than in a group. With four players, the enemies have four times the HP. Unless everyone is fighting pretty perfectly, it actually takes far longer to take down the same monster in a group. Especially since certain attacks (quite a lot of them) trip your allies or even send them flying. You need a good coordinated team to take down a monster faster than you would solo. Other than that, playing with random people in MHW is a lot like doing a dungeon with randoms in WoW. You just run, run, run, kill, kill kill, then all leave in silence. It's fun in its own way but not exactly a truly social experience.

Edit: Oh, and you have limited deaths per mission, usually 3 or thereabouts, and in team play you share that number. So if you have a less skilled player, he can die 3 times and fail the mission for you all.

@Pud80 When you do that, only players in your session can see those quests. You have up to 15 other players in a session IIRC. You can make it more likely you'll be in a session with likeminded players (i.e. more likely to join your quest) if you filter the search for the session when you start playing each time. So let's say you want to hunt Anja over and over, put that in the criteria. Then, in theory, the others in your session will want to hunt it too so will be more likely to join your Anja-related quest.

All said, it's still more effective to use SOS as others have said.
