Who else thinks there'll be a reveal around E3? Im stoked for it. I thought MK9 looked and played AWESOME after many many bad MK games (loved the first and second most, before MK9) - can you imagine how it will look and feel (thanks to the dualshock 4) on the PS4? Lets speculate until we know more. Would you want to have another NEXT GEN MK with big fat online component?
I for my part would also LOVE if they had something like Shaolin Monks was, I so enjoyed it playing with my friend couch coop.
Also, my fondest memory of Mortal Kombat was me being 10, accidently stumbling over Mortal Kombat on a vacation in Italy. Only knowing games like Street Fighter I was obviously blown away by the photorealistic graphics and the blood, when I saw Liu Kang falling downt he pit and being impaled on the spikes there I was hooked. Badly. When I came home from my vacation NO ONE would believe what I told them about Mortal Kombat. No one. Then a few months later everyone was playing it and didn't have open ears for my "told you so"s.
What's your fondest memories of the franchise?

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
My question is will it be called MK X or will it be called MK II? As I recalled the last Mortal Kombat was just called Mortal Kombat. Only the gaming community called it Mortal Kombat 9 so as not to be confused with the original Mortal Kombat.

Sure, valid point there, that's why I "made up" X. Because there already was a Mortal Kombat II, so probably they go for Mortal Kombat X. Or, like you say, they go strictly "reboot" and call it "II". I also see the possibility that it has some sub-title added to it. Like "Mortal Kombat - Bloodbath" or whatever!

Aw yisss! Bring it on, man! Like you, Scollurio, I was blown away by MK 1 back then on the SNES. This is also one of my fondest MK-memories...I played it with a buddy for a whole night (it was his SNES) and the next day it felt like my thumb nail would detach from the thumb because I was not used to playing that much. Ah, golden memories indeed.
And then, of course, the utter joy of buying MK 2 for my own SNES when it launched. For an outrageous price and completely uncensored, I was able to pick it up before it was banned (I live in Germany).
MK3 was already a downer for me, and the only other game from the franchise I played was MK V on the PS2, so I would be ready for some gory MK goodness.
Wouldn't really care about online, though. For me, MK is couch co-op all the way.

Yeah I am thinking that they will give it some sort of subtitle rather then calling it MK II, unless they call it MK II Bloodbath lol. Still look at some movie reboots like Halloween II for example.
As for fond memories of the series (Which I didn't answer before) I was a big fan of the first three MK games and up to Ultimate MK3. Once MK 4 hit I lost interest in the series. It seems that they wanted to flesh out a story line for the series which isn't bad but can only be done a certain way within a fighting game and that's when they started adding stuff like adventure modes and crap like that. I mean Soul Caliber and Tekken do it in a good way that keeps it a fighting game MK just lost that feeling and I lost interest.
I have yet to play MK (the reboot) but from what I have heard it's done a good job of going back to the basics.

Tasuki, yeah the reboot is a fabulous game, easy enough to pick up, hard enough to master and very nuanced inbetween and every character plays like you'd expect they'd play. I personally was never a fan of "real life" characters like Jax and Stryker. I always wanted them to stay more in the "mysterious realms" about their chars. Also I really hated fun-idiot characters like Bo Rai Cho or whatever that fat puke was called. Anyways, MK9 was really really good. Hoping for an even more gritty approach in the next game. Speaking of which I'd love if they would somewhat combine 3D models with real life actors. Like, not make them up from scratch in the computer, but "digitize them" three dimensional. Dreaming.

@Scollurio: Yeah MK (9) is one of those games that I want to play but every time I have the chance to either buy it or rent it some other game that I want to play more comes along. I have played Injustice though and really liked that game alot which is done by the same studio. (Heck it even has Scorpion in it lol) so I am sure that if I were to get MK I would enjoy that as well.
@get2sammyb: I do know that Ed Boon has said that once an Ultimate Edition came out no new DLC would for Injustice, so there is definitely a possibility there.

If they did something with an animation style akin to the movie scanner darkly that would look awesome. I like what the new generation of street fighter is doing, where it looks like a cross between polygon rendering and cel shading the way there are thick black lines around everything.
@tasuki Scollurio is right, you owe it to yourself to play this game. After the third game I stopped paying attention until the newest release for PS3 and boy was I blown away.
Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken.
LOL honestly no, it just seems so obvious. I wonder if they're going to actually USE it for the games name or if it's just a tease for "MK 10". Or, like some have mentioned, maybe it's an MK VS OTHERGAME game. I have my bets on the simple "X" though!

Since MK 9 was my favorite fighter of last gen, news of the sequel would make this E3 for me. I wouldn't be surprised if we heard about and got Injustice 2 first though. Either way, I don't care since I like both series. I just want to know what that team is working on.
