Topic: Nier: Automata

Any thoughts on this? I just played the demo - looks like a day one for me, ticks all the boxes.

I do wonder how long the game will be, though.. Im hoping not 4-5 hours, and more like 8-10 as a minimum.

It's open world so I think it's going to be pretty meaty. Fully agreed with you on the demo, I thought it was awesome.

@KratosMD The demo is very good isn't it, I've got this on preorder. I don't expect the game to be mindblowing but it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Looks like a really fun game and Platinum are the masters of the action game so it should be good, my only worry is the open world is going to be too big and empty full of nothing to do.

@KratosMD I just went for the standard day one edition from Amazon.. I'm assuming it just comes in a normal box. To be honest I don't like steelbooks, I prefer my games to come in the normal cases

Just played the demo; not normally I game I would go for but it was so slick and fun I might be tempted.

I think the statue looks pretty cool, unfortunately for me it's a Square Enix Store exclusive.

I especially like the steel book art by Akihiko Yoshida and I read that you can get just the steel book version in UK?

@KratosMD I don't live in the UK but sometimes I do order stuff from Amazon.com if its not too expensive. NA doesn't have Day One Edition unfortunately. EU tends to get better limited/special/collectors editions.

Anyways, I can find the artwork online, it's the steel book that I really want. lol

The more I see of this the more I like it, It looks like Platinum are back on form after a few duds.

@KratosMD No! And yes, bring it on. I don't know how I will play both these games, I like HZD a lot more than I thought I would so it will be difficult to tear myself away from it, and like you I was more hyped for Nier. I've even preordered the t-shirt edition.

@KratosMD I know what you mean and I also think Nier will be more suited to shorter bursts of play. That said... HZD <3

The PushSquare review is out people. Seems like a quirky little title that you have to play through 3 times to get the most of. I think this will sit on my shelf as I carry on with HZD until they release a performance patch. I wasn't too bothered with the performance video on PS4 Pro, looked good to me, but I take any excuse to hold off playing for now.

@finalstan Seems like a weird game, it's reviewing well elsewhere too so I think it'll be worth it. I too will probably have it on the shelf for while I finish up Horizon (although might play the opening section!). The PS Pro performance was fine on the demo but as I understand its the open world sections that have performance problems.

@kyleforrester87 @KratosMD I just feel like a child in a sweet shop with all these lovely games coming out now. Have a bite of one, leave another one for later in a secret stash that nobody knows about for when you're peckish at midnight. And now the Persona 5 trailer's dropped just to remind us that the onslaught of titles is far from over.

My copy should ship today or tomorrow but unlike HZD I am not in a hurry with this one (had nothing to play, but now I have HZD). Still very hyped, though, not sure I will hold off completely until I am done with HZD!

Yeah I expect mine will arrive tomorrow, I want to have a go on it but I've still got another 20-30 hours of Horizon to get through. Hmmm might try to juggle them both after all lol

Not me, have't received shipment notification yet, delivery is due tomorrow, though.

@KratosMD I just had a little go on my lunch break and got up to just before the boss, to be honest it felt about as hard? But you start as a level 1 and I think on the demo you're already a few higher? Did find myself hammering the health potions lol.
