@LieutenantFatman: GOW was best in class of its day in many ways. I wouldn't advise on playing it now, but it was loads of fun. TLOU is outstanding no two ways about it, but it didn't throw so many elements into the mix that have become gameplay staples. I'm just surprised TLOU commands so much love as good as it is, there's a lot of weak elements to the game.

Just a quick note, the leagues will be going daily from tomorrow. Thanks everyone for taking the time to vote, going daily we will have a winner in a little over a week and extending it over every couple of days before a tally is unnecessarily stretching the cup out. There's some big battles coming up and I wouldn't want anyone to miss the chance to vote.

@themcnoisy: I'm not disagreeing at all. Just pointing out that story and relatable characters with more than one side to them clearly plays a large part here. Just look at FF7 so often being at the top of the list. I think a lot of people can forgive game play not being the best if the game tells a story that they have a real connection with and stays with them.

@LieutenantFatman: TLOU is just a better game. God of War isn't even the best God of War.

@themcnoisy: Have you played God of War 3? I feel like that's the standard bearer for the GoW series.

@Wesker: No, I never had a ps3 unfortunately. I was in the navy last gen, and had limited gaming time. Funnily my last console games before joining the RN were GOW 2 and Disgaea 2 on the ps2. The majority of my spare time gaming wise on shore was on the 360 - Halo, Gears, mass effect and forza and to be fair even now I dont have much time due to the baby.

I might pick I up as the hd remaster as I really enjoyed GOW.

@themcnoisy: There's some really impressive set-pieces in that game. A great showpiece for what the PS3 could do. I guess it's not so impressive now, but I also wouldn't mind picking it up sometime for the PS4. Hopefully it will come to plus!
