I just thought I'd point out that people are trying to get #ps4nodrm trending on twitter today. Shoot out some tweets with that hashtag and retweet the tweets of others if you agree with the campaign. Social media can be a strong influence on companies and Sony has already said they hear the campaign.

Not up to Sony (or Microsoft) so it's a pointless campaign. If third parties want it then it'll happen. People need to complain to those companies who, sadly, couldn't give the tiniest of shits.

Yeah, they're the REAL gamers eh? HARDCORE. :lol: Sometimes I wish for another videogame "crash" like the one that happened in 1983. Both the majority of the companies and their audience have become thoroughly rotten, tasteless and corrupted.

With kind regards,

The mindless sheep are the real problem.

Sony is listening. Social Media is strong. They aren't blind to the reaction to microsofts announcement. Even if Sony makes DRM optional bc of this and doesn't do it with 1st party games (looking likely), that would be a win. Then we can vote with our wallets whether we like EAs policy and simply not buy THEIR games, but still get a ps4 and support publishers/devs that have a pro-consumer mindset. Don't think you are powerless. You don't have to give EA money.

I'm sorry to say it, but you are entirely powerless. Nothing is going to stop idiots buying CoD and other trash games. I trash talk CoD non-stop at home and my little brother still got it, ("to play with friends").
If EA want this new awful drm, it's going to happen. From Sony's point of view the best option is to probably say it's for the game devs to choose whether or not to implement it, that way they seem like the good guy to the gamers and that they're playing along with EA's gameplan. Do you really think Sony could afford to lose a francise like CoD?

@Snorky

Do you really think Activision would dare lose an install base like the playstation? They probably already have a game made and imagine how much they invested in it. You think they would sit on their hands on not release it on the playstation? The worst they would do is give Microsoft exclusive DLC or something.

But the important point is not making DRM universal like Microsoft would be a big win.

Wasn't it confirmed Day 1 since the February reveal that it's up to the publishers to do DRM? It's not like they won't put DRM in the multiplats on the PS4 if they have DRM on the Xbox One.
