Topic: PulsIng blue light

Heya guys..my brother bought a ps4 today(black ps4 bundled with batman)..he got home and set it up, completed the firmware update then popped batman and started updating that,while it was updating he started the game then changed his mind and turned of the ps4(or put it in standby im not sure) a little while he turned it back on and just got the blue pulsing light,this all happened a couple hours ago, he called me straight away and i was kinda shocked as i thought sony had just about fixed this...has he just been unlucky?...could it be a resolution problem? (even tho the console had already been on) his tv is flat screen but its quite old now

Tried turning off and holding on button for 7-10 seconds til double beep?

Thats what i told him to do while we were on the phone, its was bleeping once then again a few seconds later then just turning off

@teknium_: This was an issue with the 2.5 update in Feb or march and the issues was if a disc sat in the blueray slot on boot up from the update it bricked the console.
But it was fixed a couple of weeks later. So no idea what it is.

I had a massive issue on pc years ago and never keeps games in the drive EVER. I ran both windows and Linux partitioned and if ever the system crashed (nearly every day) the system always attempted to boot from the cd rom - if a game was in there the disc would spin neverending and you couldn't eject it and the screen would crash in bios. I ended up leaving a disc booting version of Linux in the drive. (one of you tech heads could probably name it). So always put your games away.

Only option is to return the ps4 to where he bought it from then i guess

It sounds like it. Massive bummer, but I'm sure you'll easily be able to get a replacement. I know it takes the 'sheen' off things a little bit when things like this happen, but I hope you get everything sorted and are able to start gaming soon!

Done... Took my brothers ps4 back to currys first thing yesyesterday morning,they did the exchange and he is now loving his ps4..still cant believe he only paid £290 for it with batman(and scarcrow dlc, harley quinn dlc and one more dlc that i cant remember) even more unbelievable is that currys had ps4 with destiny for £240...its all sorted now and my brother is enjoying batman, thanks for the advice and help guys!
