Kat is one of my favorite video game characters and I think is the most important video game character to have debuted in the 8th Gen of consoles... but I think in the sequel she should be given proper voice acting... what do you guys think... do you think she and the game in general should have proper voice acting or should it stick with gibberish like the first game
@DualWielding:
I don't mind either way. If I had my choice, proper voice acting would be welcome but the gibberish was part of the first game's charm and I'm sure there are many who would prefer that. To me though, if you really want to flesh out a story, voice acting helps. It's something I've always wanted to see in the Zelda series honestly. Sometimes a great voice cast can really add to a game.
@DualWielding: For me, Kat's characterization is more important then what language she speaks. Most female lead characters have been depicted as either moody or sexual (sometimes both) but the word I'd describe Kat with is fun. Because she was shown as this bumbling, bubbly teenage like girl who was getting used to her powers. If she has voice acting in 2 then sure, why not? I'm just glad Sony are starting push female leads a lot more now, with Atoi,Kat and now Aloy.
@get2sammyb:
Voice acting might help it reach a wider audience though. Granted it would have to be really good voice acting, I don't want to see it just thrown in for the sake of being thrown in. But great voice acting really adds to the experience.
I really enjoyed the original Gravity Daze (Rush in the west for some stupid reason). Personally, I prefer Japanese games to retain the original language dubbing, and I absolutely abhor anything with an English dub. With English dubbing you don't get the same emotes and indicators you get from something Japanese. As a fan of almost anything Japanese (including food my wife makes), I prefer it in it's original entirety instead of ruining it with rubbish dubs. Gravity Daze 2 is a Japanese designed game, with a Japanese designed protagonist with a Japanese designed setting. The language should remain in Japanese. Doing anything other than that is utter scheisse (German for s**t).

What they probably did (it's been a while since I played it) is actually scramble the voice acting that would have gone into the game in the first place at Sony Japan. That's what Capcom did with Okami. I thought it odd at first, but you get accustomed to it. Personally, I would still rather the second game have Japanese voice acting with English subtitles.

I think as long as it's done well then I don't see a problem with it. I guess a parallel example would be the first Starfox into Starfox 64. I think it'd be cool to have the option to have Japanese voice acting if it happens.
Either way, I just want it to be good, whatever they decide to do!
