Topic: Simple Solutions for Headsets on PS4

Hey folks, I recently had a talk with some of my friends and only very few of them are aware that you can use ANY 3,5mm jack headphones on your DS4 controller, you only need to set the PS4 to put out all the game audio over the DS4 controller. This is done by holding the PS-button on your controller until that menue pops up where you can adjust beforementioned settings. I just thought I'd share this info in this place.

If you have a headset with some kind of inline-mic, commonly found on headsets for smartphones there is a good chance that those will work as well, turning them into a full-fledged-gaming-chat-everything-headset. I tried it with my AKG K619 and it works brilliantly. It is only one 3,5mm jack (and if you have something, from your pc for example, that has a seperate 3,5mm jack for audio and microphone, there are adapters for them to make them into one which fits easily into your DS4 controller) and the microphone works wonderfully well. Also the sound quality, them being DJ headphones with really good quality, is astounding.

So if you're looking for an "almost" wireless way to enjoy good audio AND chat on your PS4, its not hard to do really.
Beforementioned AKG Headset can be found for as low as 79 euro on amazon, its pure stereo but has really good sound, better than most "simulated" 7.1 headsets. Just thought this is some info to be shared here as many people seem to overlook the cool feature of the PS4!

Next week Ill try and see if the SENNHEISER MOMENTUM work just as well, I'll report back, as they have AMAZING sound quality they'd be my headset of choice!

I think that you can use any headset and headphones with PS4, 3,5, USB. Everything works just fine. The only problem can be with headsets where mic and headphones have different conectors, but you can buy adapter for those.

Exactly, but at least in my environment many friends didn't know about that, they thought the port on the DS4 is for sony-branded only solutions!
