The collectors edition came with an exclusive class shader, an exotic class item (that helps rank up the new sub classes quicker but only has 170 light) and a class dance emote. Effectively you get 9 items but as they are only for each class you can't transfer them to other classes. The class items, cloak, bond and mark, are very quickly obsolete due to the very low light levels.
The year 1 items, shader, sparrow, emblem and ghost are transferable across all 3 classes. The sparrow isn't that special really - its the same as all other legendary sparrows you can buy, except for its colour of course. The Ghost has a low light level but can be infused making it more useful.
I do like the Shaders, both the CE and yr1 and I quite like the emotes too but I wouldn't use the sparrow if you have the Raid ones. The Emblem is OK, nothing special, and quickly replaced by Emblems that mean something - like beating the new raid etc.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

So I got a 310 Jade Rabbit and... I'm starting to see the appeal. It's a bit of a monster against bosses, as you basically never have to reload as long as you keep going for body shot -> headshot -> body shot -> headshot. The headshots do a nice chunk of damage, too.
@ShogunRok: I still think the aesthetics and ammo count are disappointing - especially compared to the weapon it was - the 'Fate of all Fools'. I have this too although mine is only a 290 light version. I also have Tlaloc (warlock only), Boolean Gemini and 'Touch of Malice (on XB1). Of the 4 Exotic Scouts, the Touch is a specialist weapon, only excels in certain situations (like the Raid) Boolean Gemini isn't that great at least it doesn't feel great - I thought it was 'average' and not worth an Exotic' slot. Tlaloc is great but only usable by Warlocks (excellent for a sunsinger who only use their super for self-revival). The Jade Rabbit hits hard but I do feel that body-headshot perk is not great. I always try to aim for the head with scouts and ot doesn't seem logical to have that perk. I still prefer my Raid Scout over these for almost everything and it then leaves the option of an exotic elsewhere.

@kyleforrester87: This week, I think I have played way too much Destiny as well. Across both platforms I have completed 3 Exotic Sword Quests, Acquired 3 Touch of Malices (one of which meant spending hours in the Court of Oryx, beaten the Kings Fall raid about 10 times, beaten Crotas Raid (Hard), completed about 5 nightfalls as well as completed numerous bounties/general quests and lots of farming too.

The Jade Rabbit is more of a PvP weapon & it's definitely one of the best scouts in PvP, you want to try it out in PvP.
I play way to much Destiny did Hard Mode on Friday, there is not a lot of difference real. Finally got good drops seeing as the loot drops between 310-320, but still no helmet for my Warlock.
FYI the actual best way of using the 3 of Coins is to pop it on at the beginning of your 3rd strike, unless it's the Psion Flayers - in this case complete that one and pop the 3 of Coins in the beginning of the 4th strike, complete it (apparently 90% drop chance), and go into orbit to start again, rinse repeat.
I played Destiny when it first came out on the PS3 for about 6 hours and just could not get into it and sold the game. Now I have a PS4 and there have been a lot more additions to the game and expansions is it worth giving it a 2nd chance? I am not sure if I just did not give it a proper chance the first time. If anyone has played it any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance
@dryrain: Certainly, it's a great game and you get plenty for your money now with TTK and both expansions. Of course plenty of people hate it, but its still a very popular game so..I guess you would just have to take a punt to see if it works for you.
@dryrain: Yes but as I played the game with @kyleforrester87@BAMozzy@Wesker@Johnycide@AlexStinton@ShogunRok@xXRiscazzXx to name a few - the community made it loads more fun. I have only briefly looked at guides as these guys are Destiny Encyclopedias. As a solo player it was great - but the added motivation of getting good and powerful enough for a raid is like going into training for a fitness test, or maths test etc etc you get good comrades, have a laugh and use tactics. I miss it (traded it a few months back) unlikely to go back now with millions of games I need to play but its easily the best fps for the PS4.

@dryrain: From someone that has accumulated well over 2,000 hours and still climbing, and I am not amongst the highest of my friends in hours either, that should tell you how much potential game-play can be had from this. No other game comes close in terms of value when looked at 'Cost per Hour'.
Destiny's biggest problem in my opinion is the early part of the game. Levelling your character up to a point to participate in the 'End-game'. The story isn't that great but the Lore is very deep - it is a pity its locked away behind Grimoire cards that can only be accessed from Bungies site. The mission structure for the story isn't that great either but its designed in such a way to be able to use these as part of that 'end game'. The story part itself seems nothing more than a way to get you to the end game, a way to learn certain mechanics and introduce you to various enemy types as well as the different areas that you can explore. The Taken King Story part though is certainly better but still has an eye on the 'end game'
Its when you get to the point of being able to participate in these end-game activities though that the game really opens up and shows why it is so popular and played regularly. The Raids for example are brilliant and some of the most challenging co-op experiences - everyone has a specific role and can only be successful by working together. They require communication and co-ordination.
Personally I don't really play the PvP myself but if you like the longer time to kill type PvP experiences (because of shields) then this is going to suit you. Certain weapons and abilities can kill very quickly though a Sniper headshot for example will kill you in one hit and of course the super abilities have that potential too.
Mechanically, this game is superb. The controls are responsive and hit detection is great. It feels rewarding to get headshots and the super abilities are great fun too. Weapons are varied and the weapon perks can also help increase the 'fun'. Having 'Firefly' for example never gets old - This causes targets to explode with headshot kills which can also kill nearby enemies. Enemies are quite varied - certainly more varied than military shooters that only have humans. AI is good too with certain enemies using cover whilst others rush you. Visually each area is stunning and unique as well - from the dusty red planet of Mars to the lush green of Venus. Each place has remnants of human inhabitation as well as 'structures' by the dominant enemy type.
The variety of weapons, perks (on the weapons and armour) and classes, mean you can adjust your build to suit the situation. The exotic Armour often helps certain class specific builds and others are beneficial to all sub-classes but these can vary in perks and stats so you may find a better version to suit you. The Exotic weapons are more locked in terms of their perks - i.e. every one has the same stats. The other weapons all have different perks (unless its one you buy from a vendor) which adds a lot of variety and options
As a solo experience, there is always something to do - even after beating the story content. Some of it can be a bit of a grind - like hunting down resources - but this can also be broken up by completing 'bounties', doing 'patrol' missions and the occasional public event and generally having fun just killing enemies. Chances are you will still have quite a bit of loot from this. Strikes are similar to the missions in essence but require 3 players (match-made if you don't have others to play with). These have their own playlist too and jumping into these will give quite a bit of loot too. Even if its below your level, dismantling for parts is useful and the XP gained helps level up gear as well as your character too.
Because you always have something to do, weapons and gear to collect/find/buy/level up etc and can have 3 characters as well, it does offer a lot of potential game-time. There isn't a game like it - certainly not on console at least. Whilst it may have elements from other FPS games and its MP is not that different from those in some ways, it also has significant differences too. Trying to compare the Story/campaign to something like Halo or any other FPS is an injustice in my mind. Those campaigns are designed to focus more on the story and don't offer much in replayability (unless you count trophy hunting). Destiny is more about the end game and using those missions for that purpose. I hate to think how many times I have replayed some missions. Whilst they are not exactly long, nor particularly full of 'cut-scenes and story', it does make them perfect for the 'daily mission'. Like I said though, the Taken King part is a lot better than the original 'vanilla' Destiny.
The changes made for year 2, in general though have improved the experience overall. It has hidden quests for Exotics as well as relatively easy class specific exotics to obtain. Quests and bounties have improved overall too and like I said the Raids are by far the best and most complex co-op experience on console. In terms of 'Value', the Taken King (around £40) also contains Destiny, The Dark Below and the House of Wolves (around £80 when sold separately), its incredibly good value in my eyes. Even though I bough on release (and therefore spent a lot more on the content) Its still worked out as the 'best cost per hour' game I have bought. No other game even comes close and its getting lower every week with each additional hour played.
Its certainly not the deepest and most meaningful experience you can have but it is certainly great fun and mechanically fantastic. If you can get past the initial story, by the time you get to the Taken King story and then onto the end game, the whole game opens up and becomes a much better experience.

Still haven't bought rise of iron.... Hasn't been on sale yet. Would y'all say its worth it, given that (a) I basically play solo, and (b) Destiny 2 is coming soon? What do y'all think?
@Tasuki Did the D2 thread get removed? I can't find it.
In the meantime I'll post here....: Did anyone else try the pc beta and notice severe AA/lighting issues? Look at the edges of the people in this graphics comparison in the hallway scene to see what I meant. The PC looks terrible compared to PS4/XB1 I was noticing this quite a lot in my time playing the pc beta.
@Mega-Gazz Next time use the search option in the right side of the screen rather then looking for it manually. As soon as I typed in Destiny 2 it popped up. It's under the online section which I think that thread is for people looking for groups. If you want create an thread in the PS4 section to discuss the game.
