fantastic post, I totally agree with what you wrote and your scores for SP/MP. I wish everyone that buys a PS4 could read your post. I was the same the last FPS MP i got into was Bad Company 2 and Killzone 2 but after sinking 2-3 hours into Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer i was totally hooked!!
Great post, I completely agree. Shadowfall has been one of my favourite multiplayer experiences for a while. Mainly because it felt balanced enough for me to actually be good at it! That said though, I do get a bit frustrated when things turn into a cluster-#&$* right outside the spawn, particularly in The Park.
@Reverend_Skeeve It will come. I can give you a few tips that helped me. For example about the unlocking stuff-thing. As long as you're trying to unlock things, you will a) learn and see the game as you try out different classes/playstyles/ability combinations but also b) you will not play at your highest skill level as some combinations will just not fit to your play style
So that means, only by "freeing my mind" of "i try to be good" or "i need to do this to unlock this" I already got better. Usually I finish in the Top 3 of my game, but whats most important is, to me, that the game feels like some successful effort. I can be like 5th in my team and had a better game than I had when I am the number one. Try to find your pace, sure unlocking everything is fun and you're after it, but the real "game" starts once you've unlocked most things, made your load outs fitting to certain situations (that by that time you already know which there will be).
And, also the most important tip I can give you, which holds true for most multiplayer games, is: people are dumb. don't be dumb.
Most people will play egoistically, run straight the shortest route to the enemy, block ways for their team mates, will shortcut themselves to pickup a beacon before a team member does it etc... don't be like that, but use it tactically. You will see, around 80% of people are like that. But what does it mean to you and your strategy? Well you can be sure for example that a petrusite grenade placed into a doorway will be most effective most of the time if you time it right. The first guy will definitely die as people from behind won't let him back up into the doorway again, ideally they push him out into the petrusite, he dies and the second and sometimes third guy dies too, just because they're blindly rushing forwards. Same setup lends itself wonderfully for a dirty mix of stun blasts/drones and C4... it's always a festival.
When you enter a room and want to place a turret, probably place it in a corner, the same corner as the door the enemies should come through is located at. As most people just rush into a room and don't check their corners the turret will get easy kills shooting them in the back. Of course, there are always top players that are not that easily to fool, but they are in the minority...
When you get the chance and run into a spawn wave of enemies and manage to run after them, consider melee-killing them, as they usually don't turn around to check for their team mates (but they would notice the bullets if you shot the guy). Also, when you're arming an objective, think about a laser trip mine conveniently placed or a C4 surprise package hidden on the ceiling above the objective, it sounds tricky but usually is really easy getting someone that way.
Most of these tactics will maybe trigger a feeling of "pressure" in you, like "i need to get this right" - as always, stay focused and keep your mind clear, don't "over-concentrate" just keep the option of doing such things in the back of your head and after a while you will see such occasions stand out. Start with simple obvious things like clever placement of spawn beacons and throwing an air support drone device BEHIND enemy lines (obviously).
Again, after all, its a game and while investing and learning a game is fine and reasonable, if - like for some people - it doesn't tick your boxes, nothing's wrong with that! Like I posted in another thread, the new Zelda for 3DS didn't really do much for me, also I never liked Final Fantasy and stopped playing COD a long while ago, while still being able to recognize why people like to play them!
Hope we can finally hook up the next days!

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.
Nice thread, Killzone SF seems to me an exceptionally balanced and well thought out multiplayer experience, and as always with killzone, the maps are top notch.
