Platinum #80 - Elden Ring - minus a little bug for the last trophy that gave me the onset of conniptions 😅… it was my genuine pleasure.

@colonelkilgore Congrats mate 🥳. You were right about not being far behind. I didn't experience the bug you speak of, was it one of the 3 ending ones?

@render cheers buddy… nah the Legendary Armaments trophy didn’t pop when I picked up the last one. Quick bit of googling and found a fix where you transfer all legendary armaments to your chest and then take back out and it popped 😅

@colonelkilgore Ha yeah that would have had me cursing a little. That's one of the first bugs I've heard of and I don't actually think anyone has mentioned anything game breaking? Think you'll play the PS5 version at some point in the future?

@render yeah I actually bought the PS5 version first… but then with the Digital Foundry vid explaining how playing the PS4 version in back-compat was probably the best version (at release anyway), I picked up the PS4 version also, to play first.

I currently have Elden Ring PS5 pencilled in for October next year, which could change… but I’ll definitely be playing it again at some point.

Weirdly enough no. It's not. A science teacher confused me with that recently. She said something about water making things wet but not itself being wet. Not sure I fully understood tbh! (Apologies for the pedanticism)

Yeah thanks @Sorteddan… well I can’t speak for anyone else but it did for me. It ‘just’ topples Bloodborne as my ggoat. In fairness to Bloodborne, it’s combat is superior. Why From hasn’t employed the ‘side-step while locked on’ and rally system since Bloodborne I will never know, they add so much to the combat. Apart from that though Elden Ring shades pretty much all of the other aspects for me… an unadulterated odyssey of epicness.

Platinum #4 - Elden Ring (sitting in good company alongside Returnal, Demon's Souls & Ghost of Tsushima)

Playthrough time at roughly ~90hrs, finished at level 135. Really really enjoyed my time with this game, and thought that the Platinum requirements were actually fairly realistic. (Nice to avoid any RNG-grind... I'm looking at you Returnal!! )

I'm so excited for whatever From decide to churn out next, as I feel the overwhelmingly positive reception to ER will give them the continued confidence to stick to their 'visions' and not compromise their artistic/development aspirations.

I'd love them to do something 'new'(ish) in a similar vein to Sekiro, something that still keeps the 'base formula' of Soulsbourne... but treads new grounds in gameplay. A decipherable narrative, and cohesive story would be a + also!

But yes, ER.... great game, and really can't see a world where it doesn't cakewalk GOTY.

Next stop- Returnal DLC, then probably HZD.

Here’s to hoping that the Returnal dlc fills that gap for you. I’m gonna be starting the base game myself in a couple of months… and have a feeling that it’ll end up figuring in my all-time top 10.

Honestly I would sometimes be cautious on recommending Returnal, but knowing your love of gaming masochism and passion for Souls - I am confident you will love it. Look forward to the report... enjoy the weekend mate

@CJD87 Congrats on bagging that platinum. I’d agree on the requirements, it really was very good of FS to not have us do a no hit run or something like that.

I’ve been really enjoying the Returnal DLC, it’s a great way to spend a bit of time just enjoying the gameplay element and really use those level 3 traits that we’d started to experience towards the end of the game. The story elements have been excellent as well and have been good to unlock after each inevitable death 😆

@CJD87 dude, you may just have 4 plats but they’re all killer and no filler. Youre killin’ it!

With all the PSP games I’ve been playing recently, I really wish they had trophies! Hopefully it’s something added in the PS Plus thingy coming soon.
