@CaptD made some pretty short work of that dude fair play. Bit disappointing that it didn’t quite hit the SE4 highs but still sounds like an enjoyable experience.

@CaptD
That doesn't sound like something an elite sniper would do... Congratulations nonetheless on your, erm... Elite brutal genocide 5 platinum

@CaptD Not that I need another game or (worse yet) another series to pile onto my backlog, but if I were to try out a Sniper Elite game, would 4 be the best to start with, or would I be overwhelmed by it by jumping into a late entry? And similarly, do you think playing SE4 first would ruin any enjoyment of going backwards to the older games?

I’m really not a shooter guy and especially military shooters are not my thing. But a lot of that is due to my very average hand-eye coordination and reaction time and disdain for multiplayer (mostly because I’m so bad at it)

CaptD

@Th3solution Yeah I recommend 4 , 2 (remastered) is pretty good as well but 4 is the most refined and fun. (Note to sniper elite fans, they removed Trip mines from SE5)
I suggest the complete edition as the dlc for SE4 is very good and it is on sale fairly often (£7 seems to be the usual price). Judging by the price history chart it will be on sale next week.
You won't be out of the loop storywise as there really isn't much of story , just a lone soldier plus all the stories seem to be very similar.

@CaptD Nice work on finishing off that SE5 plat in short order. I'm planning on hooking up with @AgentCooper for those online trophies. Haven't managed to play much more besides but interesting to know about the changes from 4. Shame that they are almost a backwards step.

Just got the Astro's Playroom platinum. Now have 102 total. Several told me that should've been my first PS5 plat, but I had long planned for Stray. Well, made it the second one! I really enjoyed it. Wish they would make a full length game with Astro for PS5. He's adorable!

Thanks guys, I suspect the removal of the trip wire from SE5 is possibly down to the invasion mechanic, perhaps they felt it was too OP.

@MidnightDragonDX Nice joyous platinum.

@MidnightDragonDX
Congratulations. I wouldn't have thought I would enjoy that game as much as I did, played the whole thing grinning like an idiot.

@MidnightDragonDX congrats dude… a great little pack-in game that, and I agree that a full length Astro game would be awesome.

Platinum #144 - Mass Effect - was the game I bought a 360 for back in the day and I loved it back then. All these years later it actually took me a while to get into it… but I eventually did.

Platinum #145 - Far Cry 6 - I love the series and this was one of the best (prob 2nd behind FC5).

Platinum #146 - Chronos before the Ashes - nice little souls-like and a lovely flashback to Remnant from the Ashes.

@colonelkilgore Nice trio, FC6 was indeed excellent. I've just started another Ubisoft game, Immortal Fenyx Rising. Very good so far and quite surprised how good the writing and characters are, it amazes me that they seem to have decent writers and actors on AC, FC but then a load of chuff on The Crew and Riders Republic.

@sorteddan Finally got that Helldivers trophy, the community clearly went through their training missions again and got gud.

@CaptD nice dude, saw you mention the troubles you were having with that Helldivers trophy the other day, so I’m glad you finally got it… also, you’ll have to give me some pointers on it asi still want to make a start on the game at some point.

Also, glad you’re enjoying Immortals: Fenix Rising. It looks good fair play, will have yo find a spare 80 hours to give it a go I reckon 😅

@CaptD
Oh nice. That's another one that you don't have to look out for, guessing most of the remaining ones require time, luck or talent on your part rather than having to rely on the community. As for me I've figured an exploit to grind kills at a higher rate so now up to around 85k, should be hopefully done in a few days.

render

@colonelkilgore Congrats on that trio of plats. Do you only do them in trios now as one is just not much of a challenge any more? 😂

colonelkilgore

@render 🤣 cheers buddy. So a few months back I managed to get ahead of schedule, so I started working on the next months games. Eventually getting so ahead of schedule that the next months games were close to done too. So I started leaving one trophy on each game ready to pop on the first of the next month. I’ve already been working on Septembers plats for almost 2 weeks by this point 😅

@colonelkilgore
Equal parts impressive and insane.
Good going Colonel.

@colonelkilgore I am very impressed and that's the exact oppose to me. I'm still working on plats from months ago that I'm just not getting the time to play or playing badly when I do.

When I've had the chance I've tried that Never Give Up trophy on Dead Nation, which is one of the only ones I've got left on it, but got to round 7-8 and then been got by a cutter. Damn infuriating 😅

render

colonelkilgore

@render I found that trophy very challenging myself. Epic feeling that time I managed it though… good luck for the next time dude. Also, I still have it installed if you still need the mp trophies.

@colonelkilgore Cheers man. I actually got the wife into it enough to play the campaign couch coop in undead mode and I think she partly enjoyed it. I think there's just one more which is not taking any damage on a campaign so I'll see if she'll help me with that one as well. She did good though considering she'd never played before so perhaps she's just naturally good at Housemarque games
