Are they worth my money.
Ateiler ryza 1 and 2. Tales of Bersaria.
Ateiler Ryza 1 and 2 are the gameplay similar to persona series and legend of Heroes trial of cold steel series? More or less? Tales of Bersaria good games, worth my money?
@strawhatcrew I’m the opposite, I’m tempted with it because I love the visual novel elements of the other games in the series and the old tactical gameplay but I’m unsure about the new gameplay style.
I'm about halfway through, and so far the vast majority of any given chapter has you wandering the theatre or surrounding neighborhood building up affinity with the girls (& other cast members) via the VN elements.
A combat scenario ends each chapter, and takes on one of two forms. A linear action segment where you traverse from "arena" to "arena" (with some light platforming in between) where you fight large groups of enemies, or a big timed arena based fight where you must defeat more enemies than the opposing team in order to win (with both styles capped off by a boss fight). You have a morale gauge that builds as you do well in combat (raising your attack & defense stats at certain thresholds), and how high your affinity is with a specific girl determines how much morale you start with at the beginning of a mission. Your grade at the end of a mission will further enhance your overall affinity with the girl you fought with (if you can take more than one into battle, only the first girl you choose will gain the end of mission affinity boost, though at some point you gain the ability to replay completed missions, allowing you to build up affinity with all girls in each mission).
Occasionally there'll be a "raid" (a small scale combat scenario that'll pop up whenever you're out & about in the VN sections), but I think I've only had 3 so far (one of which was the tutorial one).

@RR529 Yeahhh, that really doesn’t sound like my kinda thing. Which is a shame given I do like the one game available in English and the original fan patched which took an absolute age to finish.
@strawhatcrew Sakura Wars isn't really an RPG. It's a story-based games with plenty of dialogue choices to pull you in. It doesn't change the ending aside from who you decide to pick, but is very entertaining and can drastically change a scene anyway. The combat is fun, it's colorful and flashy, but simple. It serves its purpose well, but it's not the point. The beautiful animations, graphics, story and characters are the point. I would fully recommend it, but not for combat or RPG elements. And it's good they're gone, it cuts out so much useless fluff in the game. no grinding or wasting time.
@RR529 I've finished the game and that doesn't change. And honestly, grinding up affinity is pretty unneeded. If you grind that, you're prostrating yourself for being a consistent pervert essentially.

Thanks for the thorough feedback about Sakura Wars. I've been interested for a while now and so perhaps I may just purchase it. Appreciate y'all.
