Topic: Trine 2 won't unlock after purchase

Hi all, just popped in to ask if I'm missing something blatantly obvious!

After giving the Trine 2 demo another shot (and getting some PSN cards for crimbo) I decided to buy it.

So I completed the purchase on the store on my phone (via the Android PlayStation app) with the demo of Trine still installed on the PS4. At this time the PS4 was in standby, I clicked the 'Download to PS4' prompt following the purchase, don't know why, just afterthought really- but that did nothing. I assumed a download for the trial unlock would download at least.

I wasn't back on the PS4 until a little while later, it had been in stand by since the Trine 2 purchase was made, so assumed that the unlock would have been actioned. Started the game, the menu shows the same 'Start Demo' option. Thought it could be an error, so started, played through again until the end of the demo and get spat back to the menu screen.

I checked PSN via the PS4, and Vita, and my phone and laptop, all of which show that Trine 2: The complete Story has been purchased. I checked my account transaction history on the SEN site, purchase shows up there too.

So I delete and re-download Trine 2 (just to note, at this point I can't even see the demo option for Trine on the store at all). Still, 'Start Demo', and still, put back to the menu after the demo level finishes.

So, has anyone else had an issue with this happening with a PS4 purchase, Trine or otherwise? Know how to fix it?

I've emailed Sony support, hopefully they have a solution.

Didnt have this happening to me with any other game, didn't get Trine though. Did you try to look into your "library" where it should show up as a purchased title and tried downloading from there instead of the store?

Me neither. Yeah, tried that before work this morning.

There's only 1 download for Trine 2, the full 2.7GB game.. As I say, the 'demo' is no longer listed in PSN for me. It just says 'Purchased'. This is the only thing I can download related to Trine 2.

I'll try deleting and downloading again later.

Has anyone had a look for game save info on the S4

PS4? It occurs to me that I haven't, maybe if the demo's left something there it could do with deleting too?

Sorry to hear - try logging out of PSN on the PS4 and then logging back in. That's solved some similar problems (although your situation sounds a bit more complicated - but let's hope for the best). Fingers crossed!

Hi Joel, thanks for the response! Still the same after a redownload this evening, no save data that I can see to get rid of, no trophy listing either.

I'll give your suggestion a go and get back to you.

That did it! Signed out, signed back in, started the game and have Play/Settings/Extras in the menu now.

Edit: And the trophy listing has appeared too.

Cool! Seems to be the trick when dealing with these, I guess it reloads the ownership information at login or something. Enjoy the game.

Same happened to me but cant fix it loggin out/in. Any ideas? Im a bit frustrated

Hey, if you've tried everything above give sony support a call or email them. In my first response email from them they said that I'd need to be near the console to check some stuff and give some information.

This is the number 0844 736 0595.

Also, one additional thing that I learned today is this:

Settings -> PSN -> Restore licenses

That might be even better than login/logout so it's worth a shot.
