@Bentleyma- My favourite Guerrilla game! Some of the set pieces are phenomenal. My only complaints are some difficulty spikes and it can occasionally be awkward to figure out where to go. Other than that, great game!
I do wish it was more linear. You can press up on the d-pad to show a waypoint marker, but it's still easy to get lost. Not going to lie, I'm playing it on Easy and still finding it a challenge occasionally.
Edit: Why have I not played this sooner? The things this game does with the DualShock 4 and PlayStation Camera are really impressive. Not to mention the art style and overall look of the game is awesome.
@Thrillho@LieutenantFatman I'm still playing TW3: Wild Hunt I just spoke to the Nilfgaardian commander about the location of Yeneffer of Venegard, playing through it again I am discovering details I missed before, like how the Nilfgaardian commander will only deign to disclose the "military secret" about Yennefer if you will slay the Griffin, first!

@Thrillho@LieutenantFatman@BearsEatBeets@JohnnyShoulder I discovered that I had to wait until TW3 GOTY edition completely downloaded before B&W became available, now it has and I have just started it, with a leveled up Geralt. I am extremely pleased by this
I fear I may have made a mistake in going for AC3’s platinum. Some of the optional objectives in missions are pretty evil, I’ve spent hours and hours and finally cleared a mission where you have to infiltrate two boats without being spotted and get an air assassination on a specific enemy. This means I have to spend ages shuffling along the outside of the ship, waiting to chuck someone overboard without being spotted, in order to only leave that one specific enemy alive in order to kill him in a specific way. And then I need to clear the other ship without being spotted. And if I’m spotted then I go all the way back to the beginning. And ammo bizarrely doesn’t regenerate on death. Truly maddening stuff. I finally cleared it after a good few hours but this platinum will definitely feel good once I get it.
@Thrillho I'm still playing The Witcher 3, I started Hearts of Stone first, as advised and I am currently squaring off against the Toad "Prince" in the oxenfurt sewers after clearing the area of drowners. It seems on par with a Dark Souls challenge as dodging is everything, but this seems way better and way more challenging than vanilla TW3, better bosses, better characters, what's not to love? . Thoughts?

@Arugula My mum’s only got a few chapters left but it’s utterly brilliant. I can understand where the reviews are coming from with ‘cars handle terribly’ and some PS2 mission design but personally I love that aspect. Cars handle about as well as you’d expect them to since it’s the 30s and the linear mission structure gives us a type of game we don’t get anymore, a straight story without unnecessary padding.
@Kidfried Oh yeah, the graphics are lovely in Days Gone and the gameplay is... serviceable. I just hated being in the shoes of Deacon, I’ve never had such a severe reaction to a protagonist before. I just hate him.
@Kidfried If you waited about a month, that is part of the PS Plus collection on PS5.
Weird. I couldn't ever imagine having such a reaction to a fictional character... in anything really. Sure everyone say they hate certain characters, but they don't really mean it most of the time.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@Draco_V_Ecliptic Again, it’s been so long since I played it that I struggle to remember many details but I certainly remember that boss!
I’ve mentioned it before on here but the DLC was a challenge for me as I completed the base game before they introduced enemy scaling so when I came back to it after so long away, and with that now in place, I was getting murdered by lowly packs of wolves..
There are some good boss fights in the DLC though and I seem to remember the final boss of Blood and Wine being a really doozy!
@Thrillho Yeah, I think that I am going to go back and complete as many of the main and side quests as possible in order to obtain better gear and level up beyond the proscribed level. I mean, the basic witcher gear they give you for HoS only just won't cut the mustard against that boss, i need better armor too, so I will just return to the first quest in a new playthrough.
Edit: I think the basic witcher gear has been upgraded for a fresh Hearts Of Stone game, but I really want an OP sword so I can just go to town on that beast.
From what you can remember, what are the best silver swords and the best armor for fighting beasts in the base game?
Heart of Stone has a really good story and one part in particular is especially memorable. O' Dimm is a great character too and the combat was really good.
Blood and Wine is just another level though. It was perfect for me because of how over the top it all is as it goes all in on the medieval stereotypes and Geralt is at his moody sarcastic best among all these colourful characters. But the story goes into some really interesting areas, the main storyline can end in quite different ways, and there is another sequence and run of quests which is my favourite part of the whole game.
I seem to remember there even being a nod to the Dark Souls games in B&W for you too
@Thrillho Thanks, I look forward to playing through them with an appropriately equipped character. I am just going through the Beast of White Orchard quest at the moment - you know, the one where you kill the Griffin at the end of it, do you remember that? Right now I am just tracking the aforementioned beast. I am looking forward to discovering and crafting all sorts of legendary gear as I go along.
