Modern Tomb Raider games are really good but for me they don't have the sheer polish of the Uncharted games, although SoTR has some stunning environments. I'm a fan of both though and have The Lost Legacy in my backlog and fancy I'll start it some time with the next couple of months. Speaking or which....
Yeah, I plan out when I will play certain titles and try to not mix two genres together i.e open world games. Sometimes these may overlap but generally I have a 'main' and then a secondary game to play when I or my PS4 need a break(it can sound very loud when trying to run a AAA game!).
I'm getting to the end of Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima and resumed my playthrough of Shadow of War. Plan on starting something else once one is done, most likely Concrete Genie, and then replay Horizon Zero Dawn next month.
After that I have to play Lost Legacy, Final Fantasy VII and maybe Miles Morales although with the latter I may wait until I get a PS5. Those are the games I currently own and who knows what will be made available through PS Plus in the coming months.
@Col_McCafferty
Started Concrete Genie last Saturday morning. Completed it Sunday morning (including plat trophy). It's a charming little game but seriously took me around6-8 hours total so don't expect to spend too much time. In all honesty it's probably aimed at people decades younger than me but enjoyable nonetheless. Also it weirdly introduces combat relatively late in the game - around the last quarter or so, until then it's just painting, collectables and simple puzzles.

Recently I discovered Gravity Rush and I'm wanting to jump straight into 2 since I'm not looking to get really invested in the story, I just wanna experience the gameplay. Do any of your guys think I have to play the 1st one? Or can I just jump into the 2nd one? Oddly enough Gravity Rush is $30, and Gravity Rush 2 is $20.
@TraCuz- from what I gather (I looked into the games a while back when I was considering buying them... which I ultimately did) you ‘can’ just skip the first one if you like and it won’t really hamper your enjoyment of the sequel.
@JohnnyShoulder I saw it on a Reddit page - I've lost the link. Some Googling might turn it up though. I might give Shadow Of The Tomb Raider a go then, from what you've said.
I'm currently playing through one of the Uncharted games, 4, the final installment of Drake's story, A Thief's End, the epitaph to his adventure, if you will. @Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy@Ralizah@crimsontadpoles have you played through any of the UC games? What did you think of them? Share your thoughts here. I think that Drake is a charming albeit perhaps slightly too clean-cut Hollywood hero, as I was saying to @Th3solution and others, but I feel like he rubs off on the player after a while, as you get to share his exploits with him, playing as you, he indubitably grows on you and you can't help caring that little bit about him and the risk of him losing his high-stakes fortune whilst he's hanging from a ledge or whatnot I felt the battle with Nadine Ross, early on in the game was a bit unfair on a less OP and presumably unprepared Drake
but I'm sure you will get a shot at revenge later in the game. @Th3solution, am I right in that assumption? I think it's safe to assume that I am. Also
Sam is a worthy and suitably rogue-ish counterpart to Drake, with his rough charm, smoking and crass words he fits the role of the hardened yet caring older brother to a tee, and the voice acting is all top notch .
@Bentley-Ma- Thanks, but as @Th3solution said the third one has the puzzle/exploration elements brought to the fore, I shall endeavor to limit myself to that one.

I saw the lady Gaga parody you posted a few pages back that looked like good fun @Thrillho... But Yakuza 5 seems to be wearing you down a bit from the sounds of things?
I... Don't remember the "story" being practically nonexistent and... well pretty bad (In a fun kinda way though) when it does pop up in the original Devil May Cry to be honest @nessisonett. 😅
The sound mixing for Phantom, Griffin & Mundus is just awful too and I can barely hear them over the music that plys during the cutscenes. Plus the mission structure is really wild and inconsistent I find and the level design is... Ok?
Don't remember the fetish (the Elite puppet) enemies and the Frost enemies seem to have escaped my mind entirely too. I may have actually only played the first on easy automatic mode and I don't think they show up there
I am enjoying it mind you (I've blitzed through it to mission 18 in little over 3 hours)... The combat does feel a little clunky but it is enjoyable none the less! The Ifrit gauntlets feel rather delightful to use, especially with the delayed and powered up attacks you can do with it.
I've played both the first and third Uncharted games @TheBrandedSwordsman ... But I don't recall the third that much (as I haven't played it in over 8 years) beyond some rather nice and hollywood blockbuster worthy cinematic set pieces.
The first was fine... I wouldn't call it great or anything. Good for the time no doubt but I'd personally say it's aged quite a bit.
Needed more Sully for a start, I felt like the third person cover based shooting sequences could go on a bit TOO long at times and there wasn't much in the way of what I'd consider actual puzzles.
The PS4 remastered collection did make it look pretty nice though, the dialogue was pretty good, the music was rather solid (from what I recall and I did actually notice it compared to The Last Of Us) and I did enjoy myself .. mostly.
I'm looking forward to trying the second sometime soon which is considered one of the best in the series 😄
@TheBrandedSwordsman Yeah I reccomend playing the trilogy in order too, the first had the best story imo but the least amount of puzzle rooms. None of them are bad games either, and unless you personally know these people on Reddit I wouldn't pay much attention to them. Listen to you fam on here!
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
I only have the Uncharted collection on PS4 thanks to Sony giving it away free to everyone around May or whenever last year @TheBrandedSwordsman so I probably won't get round to Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy unless 2 & 3 really grab me.
It won't be anytime soom that's for sure (Though I might play 2 in the coming months) as I have for too many other games to go through beforehand!

Finally finished Guacamelee 2 and succeeded in getting the good ending, excellent game, I highly recommend it. Just pure fun that doesn't take itself too seriously, lots of good humour sprinkled throughout.
Moved onto Assault Suit Leynos which is fun if a bit short. Finished already just going to mop up some trophies for the plat which are thankfully all skill based. Feels a bit like a 2D Armored Core. What mech fan could say no to that?
Still playing Iconoclasts on the Vita. That just gets better and better, story really hooks you in.
@TheBrandedSwordsman Yo man I been keeping up with your Uncharted progress, glad you're enjoying it! I've played every installment except for the psp games, and oddly enough my favorites go in order of 4, Lost Legacy ,3 ,2 ,1. Uncharted 4 is such a good send off for Nathan's story, and it's crazy how just giving him a rope can really elevate the gameplay. I've been seeing a lot of talk of another installment, do you guys think we see another Uncharted this generation?
I would honestly love to return to this world and these characters, and simply just the masterful delivery of the story.
@TraCuz- Yeah those conveniently placed rope-points always come in handy! 🤣 Another Uncharted would be great, I haven't seen how Nathan's story ends yet, but I am looking forward to a cracking conclusion. Thanks for the following my progress, I'll be sure to keep you and @Th3solution posted as I play through it, I just completed Chapter 9 today and am onto Chapter 10 now, it's an awesome game.

@TheBrandedSwordsman Yo my dude you're in for such a good time, chapters 10-11 are probably some of my favorite. Both gameplay and story combined, haha I'm genuinely excited for you.
Such a nice twist in the beginning where they make you think Sam is dead and then boom he show's up years later an hooks Nathan back into the life. It's crazy to spend 3 epic adventures with Nathan and he has no mention of a brother and suddenly Sam's such a strong character that you actually care about. Maybe it has something to do with that natural chemistry Nolan North and Troy Baker have haha.
@TraCuz-@Th3solution I think the characters are all very well-developed and it's a great action-adventure story, not much to be said about chapter nine except for all the puzzle-solving and perhaps a bit too much climbing? But I am in a vehicle now at the start of chapter 10 so I assume there will be less climbing in the game as it goes on? Otherwise it could get a bit same-y.
Edit: Tra, yeah, of course, there is definitely natural chemistry there. It is apparent.
