Meh. Microsoft are just threw all the honor away after trying to convince people playing Wii U demos on Best Buy to Pre-Order an Xbox One. Expecting more shameable moves soon.
I starting to think MS might make one or two major changes leading up to launch because while I'm not absolutely sure the 'outrage' towards the system is as real as people believe, it's clear there are some problems. There's been some harsh words like 'we have a product for people who want to play offline, it's call the Xbox 360.' But at some point the noise probably gets loud enough, even if it is the minority, that companies re-think things. This check-in stuff is as easy as flipping switch. I could see MS backtracking on that and then a year or two after launch bringing it back it once the system is in enough homes. I'd like to think it would just do away with that nonsense all together but this is MS after all, there are times it doesn't even try to pretend to please the customer.
Why is this such a big deal? People in the military will just move to the PS4. Simple as that.
It's a big deal for the so called MERICA patriots who only want Merica products. I laugh so hard sometimes because 80% is made in china.
Does Microsoft even pull the patriotism card with their products? I never noticed anything indicating that, especially when it came its gaming machines (where its main competition are foreign).
As someone who lives in the US, I can honestly say that I know zero people who bought their 360's because they were an American product.

Same here, most people I know, myself included, went with an Xbox 360 because we were ready for a leap into the next-gen and it was first out of the gate. It was also a really solid gaming console for the first part of this gen, before MS went stupid, kicked out guys like Shane Kim and brought in complete corporate d-bags Phil Spencer and Don Mattrick.
