That's a very good question, I'm not 100% sure, but technically, you should be able to. The trials are just time-limited versions of the full game, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.
It is worth mentioning that Valhalla spoils the main game's story, though
So downloaded up to (data needed to start the game)- Stuck on loading screen on the dlc- disconnected internet started the game didn't go through than I connected the internet and it went through I was playing the dlc
