@MaulTsir Well done mate! Also, nicely played to pop the 2nd trophy for not slaughtering the archers.... they genuinely make the fight much more challenging.
Tough times are ahead with a few upcoming bosses, but it sounds like you have a firm grip of the mechanics etc.... and keeping weight <50% is essential IMO!
More than happy to support with any co-op trophies, just let me know when you're ready man
Does anybody have any recommendations for strength weapons? I started NG+ to try and get the platinum but much harder than I remember (perhaps because i'm coming off of Elden Ring and Dark Souls NG+). I've been using the axe, and can't upgrade the crushing axe until i can farm greystones.

Just missed out on killing Fool’s Idol because the targeting system went for a grunt beside her and she only had one hit’s worth of health left. I’m not even really enjoying this game, it’s like if all the good parts of Souls games weren’t there and instead you just had a cocktail full of the leftover BS.

@nessisonett Haha! I loved my time with this game, but am forever glad that I played it prior to Elden Ring....
I think the QoL 'regression' from playing ER - - -> DeS must be remarkably jarring. I remember that some of the checkpoint runs back to bosses were particularly obnoxious, only to then get stomped by a boss (again) and have to run all the way back through 20 mins of mobs (again).
@Th3solution Thanks man, I'm absolutely terrible at parrying but for some reason I could do it easily on executioner Miralda and you can kill her in 4 critical/visceral attacks. Probably just luck more than anything lol. I've managed to take down Armoured Spiderman but man the Smithing Grounds where a nightmare, just so confusing on how to get around the place I ended up using a guide to find my way about lol.
@CJD87 cheers mate, I will add you tonight when I get on 👍
@nessisonett honestly I'm enjoying it but Bloodborne aside I have no Soul's experience so I'm sort of glad that I haven't played Elden Ring yet. There is definitely still some annoying parts, targeting system is a bit crap and sometimes the movement or attack animations make me mad because I can get out of the way quick enough. But overall I'm enjoying it, makes me more excited for Elden Ring actually.
@Losermagnet Crushing Axe is what I've seen most people online say is best for a strength build, even with out upgrading it just by adding points to your strength will help it do more damage. I'm doing a sort of strength build my self playing templar Knight and I'm using thr Crescent Falchion and honestly it's doing more damage than the Axe.
But I'm a noob at these games so take what I'm saying with a pinch of salt 🤣
@MaulTsir Smithing Grounds was a bit confusing, but it’s got nothing on the Prison of Hope. If you don’t care for the maze-like levels then it’s probably the worst at that. Really cool atmosphere though.

@MaulTsir i reckon I'll work towards upgrading the crushing axe. I appreciate the input 😁 i've played through all the Souls games (including Sekiro) in the last year and I still find myself needing help/guides. Always an opportunity to have a conversation. Sounds like you and I are roughly in the same area (albeit I'm on NG+). I just beat the Armored Spider and I'm not looking forward to the next area 😂

Fool’s Idol is dead. The latest in a long list of gimmicky annoying bosses. Beginning to think that Tower Knight is the only decent boss in the game. At least I never have to go to that bloody prison ever again.
Flamelurker is proving pretty hard to beat, not least because either path I take to the fog gate results in me taking far too much damage. It’s a great boss though, easily the best one so far and feels so much closer to the ones I enjoy from the newer games.
@nessisonett Yeah, in following your posts about your journey through Demon’s Souls I was thinking you’d appreciate Flamelurker. For me it was one of my least favorite bosses; he’s a tough SOB. Nigh impossible with a magic build because he’s so quick to get on top of you and very tricky to get behind cover to anywhere unreachable by his attacks. He did feel much more like a traditional Soulsborne boss in that way. Not to fear, he’s not the last boss in the game to be this type of straight-up, toe-to-toe, beat-‘em-with-sheer-skill-and-tenacity type. If you like him you’ll dig a few of the others. Although there’s also some more gimmick ones coming too.
It’s interesting, with this game being their first real Souls-like, it seems like they were possibly the most creative and daring with the bosses. (I can’t speak from too much experience with the other games outside of BB though) Maybe the experimentation with the quirky and gimmicky made them realize most people just wanted the foundational epic tough boss fight.

@Th3solution I’m not sure if ‘creative’ is the word I’d use but I guess so! It does feel like they made a game with 80% of the bosses just being Bed of Chaos.
@nessisonett I’m not familiar with Bed of Chaos, but if you mean “cheap puzzle boss where you have to be very lucky or just happen upon a certain trick to the encounter which makes the boss quite easy” …then yeah, there’s quite a few of those. 😂

@nessisonett I played the first few hours of it. It was my first ever FromSoft game back on PS3. It was shortly after it came out and the worker at GameStop recommended I try it when I asked him for another game like Skyrim. 🙄
In fairness to him, he did warn me a little about the very different nature of the game, but I wasn’t really committed to getting over the hump. I think I made it past the first boss. It was like a large Troll that busts into a cathedral or something, if I recall. I went through to a part where I remember having to cross a bridge after the bonfire and I kept getting killed by archers, I think. It’s all very vague now. Anyways, I fell off it. Mostly because I just didn’t understand the proper approach and I had no support from a community to talk me through it. I was also pretty young and a more immature gamer without patience to persevere.
I’ll maybe get back to it one day. But I think I like the idea of DS3 first, and then Elden Ring.

@Th3solution Similar to me, I gave up first time playing Dark Souls at the Silver Knight Archers in Anor Londo, and then a bit further on when I tried a few months later in the caves before Seath the Scaleless boss fight.
I only completed it when it was remastered for PS4, which was after I played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3.

Fool's Idol is dead, I managed to get the achievement for not hitting any of the clones as well. This actually made it easier to be honest because as soon as you start to attack the real one the clones just do nothing, all in all a pretty easy boss fight I think, the actual prison was alot worse and trying to remember the shortcuts was annoying. Onto the next!
Progress slowed on Demon Soul's as I was on holiday but I had a good few hours on it the last couple of nights so here's my progress so far!
Adjudicator is dead, not much of a problem especially when doing it the way to get the achievement of not knocking him off his platform.
Leechmonger wow this was a very easy boss.
Flamelurker, I've heard a few people regard this as a tough boss but with the right weapon and buff honestly I did it first go and I found it quite easy.
Dragon God dead, this was annoying, I finally figured out what to so after 5 deaths and it was good job I checked for the hidden achievement because I almost axed him to death at the end.
What I've noticed is that the actual levels them selves seem alot more challenging than the bosses I've fought so far, I'm not ignorant enough to realise that there's many more bosses to come and will definitely cause me more of a problem. But I've seen alot of people say the run to the bosses are worse than the bosses them selves and I have to agree, some of the level designs are horrendous the tunnel city awful until I used a guide to pull it together for me lol.
I'm still really enjoying the game though and it's so beautiful to actually play! But I wouldn't have it any where near Bloodborne as of yet.
Still going for the plat, I'm using psnprofiles plus a few guides and going strong so hopefully I'll get there!
@MaulTsir That’s some good progress though. You’re correct about the bosses and the run to the bosses. But you’ve got a few coming that are tough, but nothing that should get you down too much if you handled Flamelurker. I think for me he was about the 2nd hardest boss. But it does really depend on one’s build as to what is difficult, I think.
