Hi guys, I see Doom Eternal is on sale. I'm looking at picking up a copy. Just wanted to check how it is playing it on a controller?

I know its lightning-fast gameplay is probably best suited to keyboard/mouse combo but wanted to hear peoples' experiences on the dualsense controller.

Thanks in advance!

It's very much fine with a controller. You're probably right saying it's best suited for M+K but I've played it on PS4 and I'm playing it on PS5 now and the controls were never a problem.

@Voltan ok, cool. Yes, I have played it on m/k and it is such an intense game (especially on nightmare) that I was wondering if the controller could keep up with the intensity. Presumably, there's a tonne of sensitivity options, etc to fine-tune it? I think I'll give it a go!

@kris0000 I’m just using the default settings but yeah, I’m pretty sure it can be adjusted. There’s definitely some degree of aim assist, especially when using stuff like the shotgun’s grenade alt-fire, which probably makes it more manageable without the precision of a mouse.

Try the PS4 demo for DOOM 2016 (I assume that'll work on a PS5). If you can play that fine with a controller, I'm sure Eternal will be fine as well.

Personally, given the speed of the gameplay and necessity for quick aiming, I find it almost impossible to play DOOM games with pure dual analog, but plenty of people do.

Ugh. Men.

It plays wonderfully with the controller, however, it does play better with KB/M. It's an absolute shame that we can't play Doom Eternal with KB/M on console, yet, we can with Warzone.
