@nessisonett I like that aspect of the side quests, it feels like there’s a reason to take time out of your pressing main mission to complete them. I also thought I was done with side quests on the first part of the map but turns out I’ve unlocked some more. Not complaining though.
@ApostateMage Yeah this is something I’d only want to kick in if I’m really stumped. I wonder if it kicks in sooner depending on the difficulty level but I’m just plying on normal so would need to try the harder levels to see.
@Voltan I did like the nice touch they did with those hovering flying items that tip a bit to one side from aloy's weight when you jump on and hitch a ride.
I do think they should have made that widemaw a bit more aggressive like they are in real life, pretty tricky to dislodge the critical upgrade part on it.
@ApostateMage Yea the only time found that useful was when I was in a bit and I didn't have the required gear and she muttered that she couldn't go further so would have to come back later once she had the gear.
@Reyren I’m the same as others, can’t carry on until as many of those ? are taken care of as possible. There’s a good array of different tasks to keep you going and it’s easy to start doing one thing to get sidetracked by another. It feels quite satisfying to have knocked everything off the list in an area and to then be able to progress the story. Like that’s the ultimate reward.
@Reyren definitely just take my time. I'm not that far into the game (still in no man's land) did my first bandit camp last night and am sitting at about 17 hours.
So I died and got teleported across the world map to a location I'd never been to before, that I'm pretty sure is inaccessible at my point in the story, and right into the middle of a bandit camp.
@Reyren I'm taking my time in the Daunt and happy to do so. I've been waiting years for this game, no need to try and complete the main story in a couple of weeks.
I imagine by the time I am finished with it, there will be plenty of content left but I can either go back and 'mop' up or leave it all until my second playthrough.
Man I'm having so much fun in this game, Just did my first Tallneck and then I was taking on a pack of the kangaroo like machines only to get distracted and chased a racoon which ended up with me playing about in photo mode.
The music is phenomenal really gets the blood pumping whilst chasing/being chased by machines.
@MightyDemon82 The tallnecks are really excellent this time. I went to do my second one earlier and it was quite challenging.
Also agree on the music. I remember with the first game the musicians were tasked with producing something that sounded quite different than anything else and I think this is perhaps half way between that and something more familiar. The music on the map screen is also very good.
One thing I don’t like though is rockbreakers. They are ****s! 😆
I didn't know there were kangaroo machines in the game. I do now!
😉
Reached a point where it's really started to get it's hooks into me. The music is great, the main menu theme is similar but feels very sci-fi as well. I think I already have my suspicions where the story is going to take me but we shall see.
There's no right or wrong way to play any game but I'm going to try and explore every new area until I think it's time to move on. Also, not sure why some people have an issue with the traversal in this game, seems pretty simple to me plus when you do become stuck you can always check the notes within the tutorial section.
I didn't really have a problem with the traversal from the first game in all honesty, but I do like the changes they've made. It's a really good game.
I got home late tonight so didn't play much but I still checked out a few question marks, found a drone, got a trophy, accepted a couple side quests and completed one of them. A couple new machines too. Loving it so far and there's so much to do.
@Col_McCafferty The main problem with the traversal for me is that Chargers handle like absolute crap. And the map’s so huge that you basically have to have a mount. They just aren’t particularly responsive to turn and they keep getting stuck on the environment. On the way to Barren Light I had my mount stuttering on the ground every few steps and that was on a main road.
