Hi everyone, I need some recommendation on how to setup gaming night for 12-16 people.
It will be a gaming night party with food, I'm thinking of renting 1 or 2 PS5, having 2 - 4 players on each per session, people will take turn and play. (can you connect 4 dual senses to 1 PS5 and all 4 players play on 1 screen?). Game should be easy to play (for both male and female), people can just jump in and start playing without much instruction. I'm looking at Sackboy and Super Bomberman as opntions for now. Any more ideas are very welcome. Many thanks!
Great idea! I appreciate this is a PS forum, but my go-to here would be the Switch and Mario Kart 8.
MK8 is maybe one of the best examples of a game that is completely casual-friendly, where anyone can quickly learn the mechanics.... and also even newbies stand a good chance of winning a few races.
The big consideration is that a proportion of your work friends will perhaps not be used to playing games? In which case you want something really accessible, with a friendly yet competitive edge.
If you'd rather stick to PS, then Crash Team Racing could be a good MK8 alternative. I also like the idea of Bomberman, which would be my runner up!
@namvn Sounds like a fun idea! I’ve never used the PS5’s capability of playing up to 4-player couch co-op, but here are a few ideas:
Moving Out / Moving Out 2
Overcooked: All You Can Eat
Helldivers
Everybody’s Golf
TNMT Shredder’s Revenge
Rocket League
Brawlhalla
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
Streets of Rage 4
Trine 4/ Trine 5
Crash Team Racing
Sonic Team Racing
Trackmania Turbo
Trials Fusion
I believe all of the above have up to 4-player local multiplayer. They are mostly well-received but I personally can’t speak to each of their specific quality, but they are mostly games that would likely be easy to pick up and play. Some are PS4 games, but of course can be played on PS5.
I think some (if not all) of the Call of Duty games can be played in local multiplayer, but it might be limited to two-player, I don’t know.
It would be fun to have a tournament style competitive game going on one TV, like a racing game or golf or competitive brawler, and then have a cooperative game on the other like Overcooked or Trine or Sackboy.
Another idea would be to play a specific “party game” on one TV like:
That’s You
Jackbox Party Pack
These would be good for the non-gamers to engage in since it’s more like trivia and get-to-know-you games.
There’s a lot to research for you! Good luck!

@Thrillho That promo is just dripping in cheese. 😂 Hopefully that actor isn’t submitting this clip when applying for any future roles. 🤣
It’s a good shout though for a party game.

I'd definitely recommend Overcooked: All you can eat. You can play with 4 controllers on one console, it's easy to pick up and extremely fun, regardless of how much gaming experience the players have.
