I have written on many posts of my enjoyment of this game so far. I thought to bring it all to one spot for those that like it as well and for others to post questions/thoughts. My plan is to take my Oracle class to the end going Angel path. At level 3 my Main, the "chosen one", is by far the worst of the group. I am staggered at the start of every fight, meaning I can barley move and only get one attack. This is due to my bad choice at character creation of choosing the wrong curse. I use my crossbow for my first turn, but with little skill in it and no feats I miss about 60% of the time. Then I move in for melee and still miss often. I role play that the group keeps me around as cannon fodder.
As for the gameplay so far, only a couple of minor slow down glitches usually between cut scenes. Graphics look standard for a isometric rpg. The amount of sliders and changes to difficulty makes it available to play for anyone. Standard story of you have to do this to save the world. Quite fun so far. I'll gladly answer questions and look forward to hearing what everyone else is playing for a class choice.

Sorry to hear about not being able to move, bought this & playing on ps5 too. Waiting for an update around wednesday or thursday to upgrade fixes to the enhanced edition since just came out.
I'm running a cleric & warpriest but as an elf, so weak hp trade off. She's doing alright but need more companions still in opening chapters. Looking forward to run with few companions doing some digging.
(There's been a lot of vibe to make evil characters...alignment wise. Lawful evil being the most mentioned.)

@Winter2k23 divine classes are fun! I also àm seeing many evil or at least evil leaning companions. I plan on staying roughly neutral good throughout, so this may cause me to lose a few companions. I usually play a good character the first time I play an RPG. My second play through I'll be going the lich route. With how long this game is I'll easily be playing into next year.

@Elodin Definetely seen some youtube guides, most of the companions are towards the evil side so good maybe tricky. It will be my first experience with Wendaug too (expecting many betrayals haha.), gone with Lann on PC runs, again not too far in (life happens so many times.) wrath is mentioned so much dwarfing the main game , really experimenting with classes in opening chapters. So many classes!

Anyone able to use coup de grace? I know it's a full round action, but still I seem unable to use it.

Have you finished Wrath Of the Righteous yet @Elodin or still chipping away at it?

Unlike Kingmaker where I made my character without a whole lotta thought and just dove in... I've made two characters so far (Spending an hour on each) and haven't been pleased with the end result for no particular reason so I think I'll be restarting AGAIN today...

Might go with a Kineticist this time...

@HallowMoonshadow I have been picking away at it. I'm at the end of Act 2. Enjoying it quite a bit. I haven't restarted like you, but have been very tempted too, as my oracle angel build seems weak compared to some of my companions. I have been jumping around on games though taking it slow with wotr. I was also just lent the new HZD so feel compelled to play that to get it back to them. I did play kineticist in kingmaker and enjoyed that class a bunch. I'm leaning sorcerer Lich on my second play through for Wotr. What is your favorite companion set up? I'm currently using Lann (as Drover, though should have stayed all archer I think), Selah, Sosiel, and lately Daeran over Ember even though he is an oracle like me. My hard battles always go with me summoning an army of skeletons and slowly picking away keeping the enemies distracted with all the skeletons.

Unfortunately I haven't got past meeting Lann and Wenduag for the first time @Elodin so I can't comment about character builds yet.

Hopefully third time's the charm though making my protagonist and I actually commit this time. There's just so many choices! 😄

I have Kingmaker installed on my HD, through my PS+ sub. I got the disc version a year ago but.. it never worked.

I am not ready to start it because I’m still pretty enamoured by Xenoblade 3, but I am wondering if I should skip Kingmaker entirely and go straight for WOTR. What do you reckon?

I know I could always go back to Kingmaker, but I only ever hear bad things from people who play Divinity OS after playing OS2 so I don’t want to ruin Kingmaker by playing the sequel first, if that makes sense!

I am also aware that Kingmaker is arguably not that good in some respects.

I looked it up and there's some sort of disc read error concerning the physical edition of Kingmaker @kyleforrester87.

I think it concerns the Xbox version too but I can't say for sure? Either way on PS4, PS5 it doesn't matter. The disc doesn't seem to work at all so you have to go digital. And even then it is rather unstable (Which is down to publisher shenanigans I believe?).

Having WotR physically on PS4 I can say it is working fine on my PS4 so far -knock on wood- and the support seems to be much better from what I gather with Owlcat having gone independant between games (They don't own the rights to Kingmaker (Unlike WotR) which is why they can't update it).

I'm only an hour in to WotR so I comment much more yet. Let me get further in to really comment on how well it's running.

Seeing as it's based off of the Pathfinder tabletop mechanics (which started as an offshoot of D&D 3.5) I don't think you'd find too much different mechanically between games aside from the new classes, abilities and races added in WotR and the whole Kingdom mechanic in Kingmaker compared to the Crusades in WotR.

Again only an hour in at most compared to Kingmaker where I drop a good 40 hours into it (Dropping it in Act 2).

I did enjoy Kingmaker quite a lot mind you when it wasn't bugging out. I just got a bit annoyed at it crashing more the further I got in.

... Hope that helps you out a little Kyle? I'll be posting in this thread as I go along so I'll keep you (& Elodin) updated with my progress 😄

A thought just came to me in that you could try Kingmaker's roguelike mode @kyleforrester87 to get a feel of the Pathfinder character creation and battle mechanics?

There's a DLC that comes included in the PS4 version called "Beneath the Stolen Lands" that you can access seperately from the main campaign (Though it can be played in the main campaign too).

Played it through myself (and dropped a good 10 hours on a single run) and I don't recall having any problems from what I remember?

You level up much faster due to the roguelike nature so you can get a good feel for the gameplay and mechanics and there isn't a whole lot of story to it. Plus you can just make whatever party you like, see how far you get and then start again with a new lot of adventurers.

@kyleforrester87 I'll second what @HallowMoonshadow said. I enjoyed the first, but it had some glitches for sure and a really annoying "must be here at this time or basically game over" mechanic. Wotr on the other hand is getting constant updates and I've had only one glitch and that was 5 updates ago. The story is fun and the options are fantastic to play the way you want. If you see an Army of skeletons, don't worry. It is just my good Angel oracle saving the day. (I'm role-playing in my head how my character feels bad every time he uses the spell. Lol.)

So I've finally made a good amount of progress @Elodin.

I'm lvl 4 now (almost 5) with my Chaotic Good Tiefling having picked up Woljif, Wenduag, Seelah, Ember, Nenio, Cameilla and I think I'm going to find someone else to join the party soon as I've got a quest to go to save a lord at a party. And I think it's that Aasimar that was in the intro?

I managed to not let a single bit of "Defender's Heart" catch ablaze which is nice. Nenio's create pit helped out here so much keeping the main entrance secure with Ember sending the minotaur to sleep so I could focus on the other stragglers before finishing the fight.

Was such a tense fight and I loved it!

I've not done much in character classes yet (I've kept them nearly all the same class they are) though I made Camellia into Rogue as I wasn't really sure about the Spirit Hunter stuff and she could do with sneak attack damage to make her more useful damage dealer.

Not that I've used hee much since picking up Nenio. I only brought her on her questline before ditching her again 😅

It's going ok so far @Elodin!

I should've realised going in that seeing most enemies are demons that they'd be somewhat resistant to energy with me having picked a water kineticist with the Cold Blast and dealing ice damage.

Still I already have a lesser diadem equippped already to boost my damage even more and I'm doing alright despite the slight reduction!

No idea what mythic class I'll be going for yet either. I've picked every new dialogue option so far that's come up so far with Angel, Demon, Trickster & Aeon.
