@nessisonett I just caught the trailer, and admittedly it does look to be very good. I loved RE2 remake, and this looks to be a similar 'love letter' to its original material.
@Ralizah Ha whilst I am massively in agreement with you, and think a 'proper horror game' would be great, I fear that Capcom are going to crank up the camp-o-meter to 11 on this one! I couldn't help but smile when I heard Leon tell the villagers "You can bill me for the repairs later" as he's casually fighting for his life and blowing up their livestock lol! Even in the face of life-threatening danger he's armed to the teeth with sassy one-liners.... (I hate and love this in equal measure ha)
Figured here was the easiest place to post this rather than starting a whole new thread. Shipping from PlayStation Direct is changing a bit as of December 1. It's still going to be ok, but any kind of downgrade to one of Sony's better things outside of their first party games of course (as long as you don't order collector's editions like The Last of Us Part 1 and get a damaged copy because they are lazy) is obviously never ideal. Got this email from them earlier tonight...

1. My favorite PS5 games are Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Guilty Gear -Strive- and Hot Wheels Unleashed
2. The upcoming PS5 games I am hyped for the most are Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Final Fantasy XVI, Resident Evil 4 Remake, God of War: Ragnarok and Marvel's Wolverine
I'm now going through Ragnarok's post game. It is easy to see why people came away calling this game a 10/10 flawless masterpiece based on how the final stretch makes you feel. I'm amazed they topped the final stretch of 2018, which to me was the best part of that game, but somehow, they did. To me, it is not a 10/10 flawless masterpiece, but it is definitely my game of the year and probably up there with one of my favourite games, too.
Without any spoilers, there are some late game twists and developments which really throw things on their head and make me want to play the game all over again to see how early the seeds are planted and to see the new lights some scenes will take based on the knowledge I now have.
First though, I need to clear the post-game. Then I'll need to take time away first for fear of fatigue, but when there is the inevitable quiet stretch early next year, I will probably spin it up again.
I also personally think a lot of the side content is really tedious to actually play (one of my primary criticisms with the title that holds it back from a 10/10 for me), but man do the stories the side quests tell enrich the main path, I do highly recommend playing any side task the game calls you to do, you may not enjoy it at the time, but it'll pay off big time in the end.
Hi everyone.
I am kind of curious, did anyone of you broke the piggybank and went ham with the so-called "Black Friday discounts"? Or is was just me? Is it taboo to speak about this? Just for context I bought a few games to add to my backlog but I am not playing any of them this year.
@RogerRoger Not taboo, cool. I got another year of PS Plus (essential, because I would rather buy the games and play them whenever now or replay them ten years from now in offline mode), along with Outer Wilds and SubNautica. There were other candidates, so my Wishlist got a lot of new entries for next sale though.
Did you consider PS Plus Extra or Essential was already decided beforehand?
@avatarian I got Psychonauts 2, Snow Runner, Hot wheels Unleashed and A.I. The Somnium Files all for under £50 so they'll keep me busy if they manage to jump the queue In the backlog!
@MightyDemon82 Ah, the backlog. There is nothing like leaving your recent purchases waiting in line because other game just came out and took priority over anything else already owned. GoW: Ragnarok is a huge one in this category.
I try to be restrained these days as games that go on sale once generally cycle in and out of PSN sales so it feels like you rarely miss out on a bargain.
The only game from my wish list that pinged up with a reasonable saving was Sonic Origins so that one has joined the to-play pile.
And I also got my yearly PS+ /Essential top up too.
The original game is the one I’ve played least as I never actually owned it myself but I’m pretty sure I’ve still completed it multiple times.
Sonic 2 through to S&N I’ve completed many many times in their various combinations. Sonic CD I have never played.
I feel I must have played 3 since. Maybe it came out on the Wii virtual console at some point?
I still probably know the 2 to S&N levels inside out. I found Sonic Mania incredibly discombobulating when it had the original beginning of levels before “remixing” them.
