Topic: Returnal

@Voltan Sounds like it's done well which is great. I wonder if there's any truth to something being announced at the Summer Game Fest relating to Returnal as it's featured in the trailer for the opening event. Fingers crossed!!

@adrianthealchemist Nice one. It does seem to be a deciding factor, the weapon and traits, more than anything else.

My wife was livid today as she was clearing through biome 5, got one key and was almost at another and the console just powered off. Luckily both console and save file are ok but it's gutting all the same.

@adrianthealchemist I think I got a similar weapon earlier, but the alt power was shieldbreaker.

Only managed to get one key in biome 5, which a lot better than I was previously doing.

@adrianthealchemist @JohnnyShoulder Congrats on clearing the yellow room! I made some good progress on it the other day, but I've never quite cleared it.

Usually the battle with the two severed on one of the other biome 5 paths ends pretty badly (and quickly) for me :/

@JigsawPieces I faced 3 severed at the Citadel once and that ended badly. And very quickly.

@adrianthealchemist Yeah picked up the braces when I first got to biome 5. One of the rare occurrences of lady luck being on my side. Also got the third consumable slot, which I know a few people missed.

@render @Scratchy_Seal. False alarm, My ciphers were glitched but the trophy didn't pop because I missed a scout log. 3 trophies to go until the platinum, I need 10 ciphers and 1 scout log across biomes 2,3 and 6. The hunt goes on!

@MightyDemon82 That’s really good to know. I was convinced that mine was glitched when I was needing so many from 3, especially as I’d spent so long looking. Hope those items just find their way to you without too much trouble 🤞

I finished the game , I have all sunfaces but I’m not allowed to get inside the house anymore, it’s just rocks now , how can I get the trophy, it’s the last one to get my platinum trophy, I don’t know how , if someone could help me it’s gonna be great thanks

@adrianthealchemist Sounds like a fun run through. You’ll be back at that last boss in no time and beating it down.

We seem to having similar runs @adrianthealchemist as I've reached biome 6 too. Did get very lucky in the room before one of the keys, and was basically the first mini boss from biome 1 that spawned. Did have a severed followed by two more in the next room for that key, so kinda feels like it balanced itself out for once.

I grabbed Nex Machina from the PSN store as it was on sale. It's definitely got the main concepts from Returnal in there just in twin stick shooter format. You go from room to room, you can dash to get yourself out of trouble, there's purple lasers and I bet if you play long enough there's probably drones 😂.

@adrianthealchemist I've never played any of the Nier games but always see them mentioned with high praise. Perhaps I will have to take a look. I think I'm going to push the button on the Demon's Souls purchase as today is the last day of the days of play sale. I've always fancied giving it a go but thought finishing it was likely out of reach for me. After Returnal I think I stand a chance!

@render I highly recommend the Nier games Automata is one of my all time favourites and I'm playing Replicant just now. Almost got that platinum now 2 ciphers in 3 and 2 in 6 plus one scout log in 6 and that's me done. No idea where the last 2 in biome 3 are and it doesn't help when the game decided to throw loads of drones at me when I just want to run through the area haha.

A run this evening that hadn't started especially well just kinda came together, and I got all 3 hadal keys in biome 5 (with the challenge room last - first time I've completed it)!

Left the game paused for an hour, came back to it and started exploring biome 6 and ... the game crashed. Argh!

Thankfully it seems to have remembered my progress as I still had the things I'd gained, and access to biome 6. Phew & woohoo

@MightyDemon82 Had a look at a few videos and Nier does look a bit Returnal like in a few places. I’ll check them out 👍.

The drones just never get any easier really, I still get killed by them every now and then even with some good traits. I did see someone suggesting the doom bringer being quite good to use on them. It takes a while to charge up though and if you get it wrong then you just get to watch the big ball of doom sail off in totally the wrong direction.

@JigsawPieces Bad luck that you had a crash, was that after today’s firmware update? Good work on B5 though, especially the challenge room as that one is one of the worst.

I see Matterfall is on offer too, although it's not quite as good a deal.
